One can appear in the Main Examination only after passing the Preliminary Exam.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) holds the Preliminary Examination in May/June and the Main Examination is held in October/November.

The notification for the Preliminary Examination is published in January/February every year.

you have to fulfill the criteria and the requirements to become eligible for the same.

    eligibility criteria:-

    * the candidate must be the citizen of India.

    * the candidate must be a graduate from a govt. recognized university.
