Am I eligible for Civil Services Exam after Diploma in Nautical Science from Indian Maritime University?

Does 'DNS leading to B.Sc Nautical Science' (prof. qualification in merchant navy), satisfy the Eligibility of CIVIL SERVICES Exam ?
Does 'DNS LEADING TO B.Sc NAUTICAL SCIENCE'(from indian maritime university) satisfy the eligibility for civil services exam? Its NOT a 3year classroom program, its a professional qualification in merchant navy & includes 1YEAR CLASSROOM STUDY BY WHICH WE GET DNS(Diploma in Nautical Science) & THEN 1.5YEAR PRACTICAL TRAINING/JOB AS A CADET ON SHIP,THEN 6MONTHS CLASSROOM STUDY & 2ND OFFICER EXAMS AND WE GET OUR LICENCE & DEGREE AWARDED IS B.Sc Nautical Science. CONFIRM ABOUT THE ELIGIBILITY.
    Thanks.

    Dear,
No, you can't apply for the CSAT examination, as it requires the Bachelor degree in any discipline at any recognized university as its essential qualification. Your Diploma course is not equal to the Bachelor degree. So you have to pass the B.sc in Natural Science, then you will be eligible to apply. To know more details please visit www.upsc.gov.in Thanks..... Best of Luck.....

Re: Am I eligible for Civil Services Exam after Diploma in Nautical Science from Indian Maritime University?

    beniwal & jagan:
Kindly re-read my post. It's not a simple diploma, it's DNS that leads to b.sc nautical science(refer imu.edu.in).
what i asked was if this has got the eligibility criteria for CSE, as it is not a 3year classroom program, but 1year classroom=DNS. Then 1.5year on ship+6months classroom=B.Sc nautical science. Thanks for replying anyway.

    manojbadoniya:
Thanks for replying. The information was useful.
