    Dear Friend

I appreciate your decision to join the IAS which is one of the most respectable services with full dignity and power in Indian government.

Now coming to eligibility criteria for the Civil services examinations :

    1.Academic qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university.Final year candidates are also eligible to apply for the examinations.

No matter how you have pursued your bachelor's degree either through diploma or 10+2 ,if you have bachelor's degree then you are 100% eligible for the Civil services examinations.

So do not worry you are eligible for the Civil services exam after diploma then engineering.

    2.Age criteria:

The age limit is 21-30 years for the general candidates and three years age relaxation to obc and five years to the sc/st respectively .

3.No of attempts :For general it is 4 ,for obc it is seven and for sc/st it is unlimited within their age limit.

Some of the best coaching institutes are as below:

Re: Am I eligible for IAS exam after engineering via diploma?

    Hello

YES YOU CAN APPLY FOR THE IAS EXAM.

As you mentioned that you have not completed your 10+2,then you do not have to think about it much. The 10+2 is same as diploma,if you have not done your 10+2 but diploma then that is equally legal.

Actually the diploma and 10+2 are considered to be the intermediate ,the word intermediate means the middle studies that you did after 10 and before your graduation,as class 10 is considered to be the first big exam of a students career and graduation is considered to be the first milestone in one academic career.

Both of them are same, even at some places the diploma is slightly higher rated in compare to 10+2,but all over both the exam are same.
Hence you have done your engineering, then you are a graduate and in order to apply for the IAS,the minimum educational qualification required is graduastion from any stream and that you are.So you are eligible for the IAS exams.
