    Are B.Tech final year students eligible to apply for IAS exam?

    hi....hello every one.... i'm new to the thought of becoming an i.a.s officer.
    still got a great zeal of becoming one such........i'm pursuing b.tech and am in 3rd year right now......i went through the requirements and eligibility criterion for attending the c.s.e..........

    NOW please someone help me with this........CAN i apply for the examination when i am in the final year of my b.tech.....and attend the exam after relieving.......

    HI,
    Appearing in final year candidates-in graduation degree is also Eligible for IAS exam.

    Exam Eligibility;-

    1-You must be passed a graduate degree from a Indian recognized university
    2-There is no percentage requirement
    3-Appearing in final year candidates are also Eligible.
    Age limits;-

    General age limits is 21-30 years. Age relaxation is given reserved category students.

    Age relaxation;---

    3 years age relaxation for OBC category
    5 years age relaxation for SC/ST category
    10 years for PH candidates

    Exam pattern;-

    Civil services Preliminary exam consist two papers of General studies having 400 marks.
    2 hours are given to each General studies papers.
    Civil services Mains exam pattern changed from this year.
    Now Any Indian Language papers consist 100 marks as qualifying marks.
    English language papers consist 100 marks.
    Essay papers marks is same as previous.
    Now general studies papers consist 500 marks.
    There will be last stage of Interview which consist 275 marks instead of 300 marks.

    Dear,
    The essential qualification for CSAT's IAS examination is to pass or appear the final year Bachelor degree in any discipline at any recognized university. So, as you are a B.Tech final year student, you can appear the examination. But you should keep in mind the age limit. The age limit is within 21-30 years. The upper age limit for OBC is 03 years, for SC/ST is 05 years. The chances of appear the examination for General candidates is 04 while for OBC, it is 07 and for SC/ST, it is up to 35 age.     IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services .IAS exam is conducted by UPSC every year .This Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission.

    If you have completed Graduation in any discipline from recognized university are eligible for IAS exam.There is no marks criteria.

    Final year student are applicable for IAS Exam.

    You are final year of B-tech degree means you are in 4th year of your degree course so you are applicable for IAS exam .

    The age limitations is 21-30 years.Relaxations applicable to obc and sc/st respectively.No. of attempts- 3 for General, 7 for OBC, and no limits for SC/ST candidate .

    This civil service examination has three level-

    1. CIVIL SERVICE APTITUDE TEST (CSAT)
    2. MAINS
    3. INTERVIEW.

    Its good that you already went through the eligibility criteria.

    Yes.. you are fully eligible to apply... as when the result will be declared .. you will be having your B.tech degree with you that time.. that's what UPSC demands.. just a graduation from a recognised university.

    So go ahead next year and apply for the same.

    Hello

    YES YOU CAN APPLY FOR CIVIL SERVICES EXAMS BEING IN THE FINAL YEAR OF ENGINEERING.

    The students who are in the final year of their degree course are applicable for applying in civil services.
    The exam is conducted in three stages.
    1)Preliminary Exam.
    2)Mains Exam.
    3)Interview.

    Now it takes nearly 1 year time to complete all the process of selection,hence by the time all the selection process will get over you will finish your studies.

    Yes.You can apply when you will be in Final year.You need to produce your certificates before the UPSC Mains,if you clear the Prelims.The Mains is held around September October.You need to have your Provisional certificate and final marksheets till that time as those needs to be submitted before Mains and on further qualification they are needed during Interview.
