    dear friend,

    For UPSC IES exam any Engineer in any stream who has done his engineering from recognized college or university can apply for IES exam.
    but the problem is that you have give the exam in any one stream from the following.
    1. Civil Engineering
    2. Mechanical Engineering
    3. Electrical Engineering
    4. Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

    YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICES .

    BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT THE STUDENT OF THESE FOUR BRANCHES OF ENGINEERING MENTIONED BELOW


    1. Civil engineering.
    2. Mechanical engineering.
    3. Electrical engineering.
    4. Electronics and telecommunication engineering.


    ONLY THOSE CANDIDATE WHO ARE THE STUDENT OF THESE BRANCHES ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS EXAM.

    Yes you can apply for the IES exam. In frequently asked question of upsc official website you can see the answer of your question. The question is asked specially for your branch that can chemical engineer take part in IES and the answer is written is that all the department of engineering student can take part in IES exam.

    For see this FAQs you can click this link www.upsc.gov.in/general/faq.htm. You can apply for the examination in www.upsconline.nic.in, you should know other qualification of exam that you can give this exam between age of 21 to 30 years. After that you will be disqualify for the exam so you should do preparation right now without any tension.

    Hi Aspirant,


    yes friend chemical engineer can apply for the UPSC IES( Indian Engineering Service) exam.

    UPSC allows the engineer to apply for IES exam belong to following stream

    Electrical

    Mechanical

    Civil

    Electronics and Telecommunication


    you can also apply for the civil service exam.


    Required Qualification for IES

    You must have technical degree like BE or B. Tech in any stream

    No certain marks of percentage required.

    Age should be 21 to 30 years

    Age relaxation to eligible category

    You must be Indian.

    Sorry friend chemical engineering graduate are not eligible for the Indian Engineering Service Exam(IES).Because IES exam have only four branches in that branches chemical Engineering is not there so your not Eligible for the IES Exam.

    Well no, you are not eligible for it, since only 4 trades are allowed to appear in this examination.

    According to eligibility criteria of IES, you are not allowed to to appear in the examination due to list of trades which are allowed :

    >> Civil Engineering

    >> Mechanical Engineering

    >> Electrical Engineering

    >> Electronics And Telecommunication Engineering

    Yes, chemical Engineers are applicable for IES exam.

    Indian Engineering Services (IES) examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in every year. The IES examination is generally conducted in the month of June in every year. If you are interested in the IES examination then to appear in the IES examination you need the following eligibility criteria.

    If you have completed engineering discipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam

    1.Civil Engineering
    2.Electrical Engineering
    3.Mechanical engineering.
    4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

    The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.Final year student also eligible for IES exam .

    If you are from different departments then also you are eligible but you should take one of the above departments as IES exam.

    only metter is you have to be graduate...

    you should follow some criterias as follow...

    you have to be graduate with passing marks from approved university or college.

    you have to be an indian

    age limit.....
    for open 21 to 30
    for onc 21 to 33
    for sc st 21 to 35

    no of attempts
    for open 4 attempts
    for obc 7 attempts
    for sc st no limit...

    Seriously, some of the guys who have posted here contradict their own statements.
    Just say yes or no, don't go on quoting the eligibility criteria which says only four of all are eligible.
    The faq on upsc.gov.in states that "A candidate possessing a degree in Engineering in any discipline is eligible for taking Engineering Service Examination."

    Sorry Dear you are not eligible for IES exam because a Chemical engineer are not eligible for IES exam. engineer olny few branch candidate are eligible for IES exam the detail information is given below.

    Eligibility Criteria for IES

    Should be completed degree or diploma in engineering & technology for following branch
    Mechanical
    Civil Engineering
    Electrical Engineering
    Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

    candidate should be graduate from recognized university in any stream. marks or percentage doesn't matter.
    Age Limit

    General 21 to 30
    OBC 21 to 33
    SC/ST 21 to 35

    Nationality- must be Indian

    Yes definitely a chemical engineer can apply for IES Exam, since the candidate is should have a engineering degree (any discipline) to appear for the IES Exam.

    Eligibility Criteria for UPSC IES - Indian Engineering Services 2013 :

    A bachelor's degree in engineering in any one of the following disciplines from a recognized university

    1. Civil Engineering
    2. Electrical Engineering
    3. Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
    4. Mechanical Engineering

    If you are appearing for final year exams or awaited for final year result then also you may apply

    Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates

    Dear you have completed your engineering degree with chemical engineering as a specialization subject so that you are not eligible to apply for Indian Engineering Service Exam 2013 but if you are interested in UPSC exams then you can apply for following exam :

    A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and if you are pursuing final year of the degree then also you may apply for this exam

    Yes, sure a chemical engineer apply for IES exam bcoz for this exam candidates should have engineering degree in any stream from recognized university. Side by side he/she should have below criteria also.

    1. Should be engineering degree in any stream from recognized university.
    2. Age should be for General :- 21-30 yrs.
    OBC :- 21-33 yrs.
    SC/ST :- 21-35 yrs.
    3. Should be citizen of India.
    4. Male or Female both can apply.

    Yes chemical engineer can apply for UPSC exams.

    You can apply for UPSC exam after your completion of the course.
    You can apply for all of the exams like IPS,IAS,IES,CRPF,CDs etc. all of the exams conducted by UPSC.

    You can get a very good salary and also a good post with good income.

    You should have the eligibility criteria fulfilled to apply for UPSC exams.
    The eligibility criteria for UPSC exams:-

    You should have completed graduation from a good university

    Your age should be:-

    Age limit for general candidate is 21-30 years
    If you are an OBC candidate then 21-33 years
    If you are an Sc/ST candidate then 21-35 years

    You should have these criteria fulfilled to apply for UPSC exams.

    Yes you can apply to IES irrespective of what Engineering branches you have passed from,my advice to few guys here who are saying Chemical engineers are not eligible should read the rules properly rather than posting unwanted replies and misleading a prospective students.

    Dude you are not at all eligible to apply for the IES exam

    Because You are from a " Chemical Engineering stream "








    IES only allow the students from the below streams only
