Re: Can I appear in UPSC exams while pursuing BCA exams?

No you are not eligible for IAS exam while pursuing graduation.

For IAS examination you must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognised university and there is nowhere written in the notification that those who have cleared graduation backlogs are not eligible.
So you must start preparing for the IAS exam and donít worry about your eligibility.
The selection is purely based on the following stages of IAS exam:
    -Civil Services Aptitude Test.
    -Civil Services Mains
    -Personal Interview
Thos who pass the CSAT are only eligible for IAS mains and merit is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in mains and interview.

Re: Can I appear in UPSC exams while pursuing BCA exams?

    Dear Friend

    Your query is incomplete as you have not mentioned the name of UPSC exams for which you want to appear.Let me tell you that UPSC is the union Public service commission that conducts lots of examinations every year like;

    1.NDA/NA exam

    2.Special class railway apprentice examination

    3.Civil services examinations

    4.Combined defence services

    5.Central police force services.

As far as I think that you want to ask about the civil services examinations .For this only graduated students can appear or one who is in the final year of bachelor's degree can appear for the exam.

If you are in the final year of BCA ,then you are eligible for this exam.

You age also must be between 21-30 years. If you belong either obc or sc/st ,you will be provided relaxation in age.

    >>You must be an Indian citizen.

NOTE: The examinations like CDS,CPF ,IFS have also the bachelor's degree as the minimum academic requirement for the examination. So if you want appear for these examinations then you have to be in final year of BCA.

For any other information ,please visit www.upsc.gov.in

    Hope the information helps you.

All graduates are eligible for IAS exam.

    - Well candidates should be in this age limit: 21-30 years.

    - Final year pursuing candidates are also eligible to apply.

    - At time of interview candidate should be able to present his/her graduation mark sheet/degree.

    - But candidates of pre-final year or later years are not eligible.
