I am sorry to tell you but you are very late for IAS. for Open category there is a limit of 21 to 30 years. there are some flexibility for OBC, SC/ST candidates as well which is upto 35 years but you are 39. so you are not eligible for it.

Dear we are really sorry to say that you are not eligible to apply for UPSC IAS examination because you have crossed the maximum age limit decided by UPSC board and official eligibility criteria is following as

    >> A degree in any discipline from a recognized university, final year pursuing or final year examination appearing or final year exam result awaited candidates are also eligible to apply for this exam

    >> Age should be minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines that is 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PWD and 5 years for Ex-Servicemen category candidates

Dear as you can see that you are 39 year old candidate and maximum age limit to apply for this exam is 30 years that means you are very far from the maximum age limit and if you comes under SC or ST or OBC then also you can not apply for this examination because relaxation is mentioned above and you are not being eligible to apply for this exam after claiming for upper age relaxation also so please do not think about it

There is a way for you in teaching field that is UGC NET entrance test because there is no age limit required to appear for this exam and this is for the post of lecturer in various educational institute of India and you should have a master's degree in any discipline with at least 55% marks to apply for this exam and no age limits means you can apply at any stage of the age

    All the best
