Re: Can I apply for IES (Indian Engineering Services) exam being an Instrumentation and Control Engineering student?

    Dear Aspirant

Any student who has get a degree in engineering from any branch from a recognised university can apply for Engineering Services Examination. This is the minimum educational qualification fixed by the commission.Besides these commission has also mentioned that these can also apply who have passed both sections A and B of the Institution Examination of the Institution of Engineers or have passed a graduate membership examination of the institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers.

But main point for you that examination is only conducted in four fields of engineering. That is Civil Engineering,Elecrical Engineering,Mechanical Engineeirng and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. So you will be appearing form any of these paper.I think E &TC will be better for you as many of the paper you have studied in your branch Instrumentation and Control Engineering field.

See the question paper will be both in conventional and objective type. There will be one paper on General Ability Test.So now you can prepare for the examination well by setting your time limits for completion of syllabus.
