Re: Can I apply for UPSC exam after scoring 75% in 12th? What is the required eligibility criterion for same?

    Dear Applicant,
-Having just completed your 10+2 board exams, you can appear for the NDA exams conducted by the UPSC but you are surely not eligible for the CIVIL SERVICE exams conducted by the UPSC.
-You'll have to wait until you complete your Graduation for being eligible to appear for the Civil Services, conducted for the prestigious posts of IAS,IPS,etc.
The eligibility requirements for these exams are mentioned below.
    :: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA ::
-You must be a citizen of India,
or,You must be a Tibetan refugee settled permanently in India, before 1962,
or,You must be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
-You must be 21 to 30 years of age.
However the upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and by 3 years for the OBC candidates.
-You must have completed your Graduation or Equivalent from a recognized university, with any subject combination.
Final year students are also applicable.
    -Number of attempts allowed :
    For General Category : 04
    For OBC candidates : 07
    For SC/ST Candidates : Unlimited.

-Clearly,you do not fulfil the Age and Educational Qualifications to appear these exams now.
-However,if you are more than eager to appear for the Civil Services, then I would recommend you to opt for Arts Subjects in Graduation level.
The subjects such as Indian History,Public Administration and Geography, are highly preferred as they are very scoring, and even asked about in the Preliminary exams.
    -Hence,choose your subjects well.
Work hard and keep a positive attitude always.Success will be yours.
    Good Luck!!

    Dear pal,
    • The eligibility required for any service exam conducted by Union Public Service commission is the bachelor degree from any discipline except in the case of few exams.
    • The minimum percentage required for the bachelor degree is 50. Relaxation is provided according to the category one belong to.
    • The aspirant mark in the higher secondary degree course is not taken into consideration for applying for the service exam. So it doesn't matter whether you have secured 75% or less or more.
    • And also the stream in which you have did your higher secondary is not considered at the time of you getting into the services. It could be either a science stream or commerce stream.
    • And also you can do bachelor after twelveth or after diploma whichever suits you the most but having completed higher secondary you can directly do bachelors unlike diploma after 10th standard.
