    hello Dear,

    sir now i an pursuing mechanical engineering in AMIE .am i eligible to become an IAS officer.

    Ya you can apply for IAS exam. to apply for IAS exam Degree is compulsory..

    * Yes, you can become a IAS officer after completing Mechanical Engineering from AMIE

    * The degree you do doesn't matter here....!

    * You have to be a graduate from a recognised univeristy in any discipline....!

    * It may be arts, science or engineeering...!

    * You have to be a citizen of Indian subcontinent....!

    * Must suit the age requirements of 21 to 30 years of age...!

    * Upper age limit is relaxable for BC upto 3 years and SC/St upto 5 years....!

    * You have to first of all clear the prelims and then main exam...

    * Then you will be called for a personal interview session....!

    * After successfully completing these 3 rounds, you can become an IAS officer....!!

    If you wish to apply for UPSC Civil Services - IAS Officer then you should have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and your age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and if you belong to reserved category then you will get the relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates.

    You have completed your bachelor's degree in engineering discipline so that you are eligible for this exam and you can apply for this exam between following dates :

    Date for start application : 02-02-2013

    Last date for application : 04-03-2013

    Dates for Examination : 19-05-2013

    If you are really serious to become an IAS officer in a short time then first of all you should have a accurate information about the exam pattern and the complete and accurate syllabus of the exam and the exam pattern is following :

    1. Preliminary Exam : This exam would be conducted in objective type format and you will have to qualify two papers which contains 400 marks and after qualifying in this exam you have to apply for mains exam.

    2. Mains Examination : This section contains 9 papers which has 2000 marks and there would be 3 separate papers for - Any Indian Language, Essay and General English and other 6 papers would be as - two papers for general studies, 4 papers would be from your selected any two subjects for mains exam means each subject has 2 papers.

    3. Interview Process : After qualifying both of the prelims and mains exam you will get the call for interview process and this process contains 300 marks and if you qualify the interview process then you may become an IAS Officer under India.

    You should study hard for this exam and join any reputed coaching institute which provides highest and top result for IAS selections every year and you must give at least 8-10 hours for your study without coaching studies.

    To become an IAS officer what are the processes to be maintained by a Machanical Engineer in AMIE is as under.

    1. A graduate or a final year candidate from a recognized University in any discipline can write IAS officer Exam.This exam is conducted by UPSC twice in a year.

    2.The age for an IAS Gen: 21-30 years.For OBC:- 21-33 years.For s/c s/t:21-35 years.PWD- 21-40 years.

    3.The candidate must be the Indian citizen.

    4.ATTEMPTS:To clear the Ias exam a Gen.candidate can avail max. 4 attempts.An OBC can avail 7 attempts.S/c S/T&PWD: has no limit.

    so dear becoming an IAS officer you are to go through above processes.

    India holds a UPSC((Union Public Service Commission) examination every year to recruit a number of civil service officers.
    Eligibility criteria for IAS:

    1) Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
    2)Age : The upsc civil exam appear candidates age between 21 to 30 years .Age relaxation for SC ,ST ,OBC ,handicapped persons details given below.
    (i)5 years age relaxable for SC,ST candidates
    (ii)3 years age relaxable for OBC candidates
    (iii)5 years age relaxable for defence service personnel

    How to prepare?
    To crack the exam, the preparation requires the right approach along with the right study materials and strategy. The preparation requires focused study rather than plain hard work.
    You can read guide books like General Studies Manual, Indian Politics by Lakshmikanth, Ancient History by D.D.Kausambi’s, R.S.Agarwal [Arithmetic], Wren & Martin [English Grammar], Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation by Arun Sharma, etc.
    You may even study journals and even watch television for important news reports. Reading English newspapers will also help the students to get a good hold on the English language. Always keep the syllabus and past five years question papers.

    Yes, you can apply for Civil Services Exam for becoming IAS Officer, if you are doing Mechanical Engineering in AMIE.

    But the condition is that, you must be in the Final Year of your course, or you must have completed your Graduation Course.

    ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR CIVIL SERVICES EXAM:

    Qualification:


    You must have completed Graduation from any recongnized University.


    You can also appear for this exam, if you are in final year of your Graduation.


    You will have to clear three stages to Qualify Civil Services Exam:

    you are eligible for IAS exam,because for IAS you must be

    Yes you can appear in IAS examination as the mechanical branch student can appear
    in this examination.A candidate for this examination must have attended the age of 21
    years and must not have attended the age of 30 years on the 1st January 2013.
