    Can I get admission in NDA being a non-science student?


    I am a student of class 11 in the commerce stream, but as i got to know by reading all the information that was
    detailed in the site 'upsc.com' now i as i am not a student of the science stream can i get the admission there.

    yes you are eligible

    Basic eligibility required for NDA are:
    - You are eligible for NDA after 10+2 exam.
    -only unmarried male candidates are eligible.
    -candidates appearing in 12th class can also apply.
    - Age : From 19 Years to 24 years. Engineer graduates 20 to 27 years
    - Degree. BA, B.Sc or B.Tech/BE

    if you are non-science students, then you are eligible for Indian army,

    you can join nda exam for army.

    nda exam stands for national defence academy.

    nda exam is conducted by upsc twice in a year.

    your age lies between 16.5-19 years.

    you must be unmarried male as well as Indian citizen.

    Sorry to say you are not eligible for the exam because only science stream candidate are eligible for the exam.

    Upsc requirement for NDA exam the candidate must have complete or appear in the +2 with science stream from the approved university.

    The age limit for the exam is the 16.5 years to 19 years.

    Only unmarried male candidate is eligible for the exam.

    You are not science student so you firstly complete the graduation then you are eligible for the CDS exam under OTA and IMA exam.

    And also elgible for the civil service exam.

    The acronym NDA stands for the National defense academy.For getting entrance into this academy you need to clear the NDA examinations held two times every year by the UPSC in the month of April and August respectively.

    The certain requirements for the NDA Exams are:

    1.Academic qualifications:

    >>10+2 passed/appearing from a recognized board.

    Friend since you are from commerce stream so you are eligible for the NDA exams but after clearing the written test,SSB and medical test ,you will allowed only to join the Indian army.

    2.Age criteria:

    >>16.5 to 19 years for every one.


    >>You should be an Indian.

    4.Martial status:

    >>You should be unmarried male .

    5.Examination pattern :

    6.The important dates for the NDA 2 are as below:

    >>Date of notification:04/05/2013

    >>Last date of receiving application:03/06/2013

    >>Date of examination:11/08/2013
