Re: Can I join CBI through UPSC exams?

You can not join CBI after passing any of the exam of UPSC. UPSC is not the authorized body to recruit people for Central bureau of Investigation. In order to get into CBI you have to pass the examination of Combined Graduate level conducted by SSC. The basic requirement and MUST KNOW HOW are as follows :-

    1. The CGL exam is conducted once in a year and notification for the same comes out in the month of March.
    2. Age limit is 18-27 and relaxation also for SC/ST AND OBC candidate.
    3. The exam is objective type and to get a post in CBI atleast 75% IS REQUIRED.
    4. Two tier of exams are conducted and you have to qualify the all India of both the exam.
    5. After that an interview session will be conducted.

    Hope it will help

    • UPSC does not conducts the examination in order to Join the Central bureau of investigation (CBI).
    • In order to join CBI, you need to appear in the common graduate level (CGL) Examination which is conducted by staff selection commission (SSC).
    • For that you need to have completed the graduation from an recognised university.
    • The age bar for the exam is 18 years to 27 years.
    • Age relaxations in upper age bar is provided to the reserved category.
    • The question will be of multiple choice question.
    • You need to have the nationality of India.
