    dear friend,

UPSC conduct the Civil Services Exam for the post of IAS.

for Civil Services minimum educational qualification is graduation in any stream. and minimum age limit for general category aspirant is 21 years to 30 years. and there is relaxation in upper age limit upto 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/St candidates.

coming on optional subjects, you you can choose Economics and Management as your optional subjects. The combination which is not allowed is Commerce and Management, management and Public Administration.

    Best of luck....

upsc civil services examination is conducted in two stages namely

the candidates who clear the preliminary examination are called for the mains examination.
for the mains examination aspirants are required to choose two subjects
of his interest fromthe list of subjects allowed by upsc for this examination.
there is no restriction on the choice of subjects by the aspirants.
but the combination of subjects should not contain subjects that require almost similar preparation, these combinations are not allowed by upsc for this examination.

    Dear Friend,

Yes you can definitely opt for Economics and Management as optional subjects for IAS examination.
Both are equally good subjects and scoring too if you have prepared well for it.
If you have mastery over both the subjects than you should definitely select it.
It is very good choice of Combination.
Many people refrain themselves from choosing economics but it is highly scoring subject if you have prepared for it very well.
Many IAS toppers has succeeded in their examination with Economics as their one of optionals. Same goes for Management as well.
    Hope it guides you well.
    Regards.
