Re: Can I prepare for IAS exam after completing honours examinations with 50% marks?

percentage doesn't matter if you are applying for any of the upsc examinations .
so the students with less percentage are also eligible to apply for the upsc examinations .
the aspirants are only needed to have passing marks to become eligible to apply for the upsc examinations .

so you are fully eligible to apply for the upsc civil services examination with 50% marks in your graduation.
the notification for this examination is released by upsc in the month of FEB or MARCH.

as soon as the notification is being released the application forms become available for the aspirants .
both postal as well as online application are entertained .

the age limit to apply for this examination 21-30 years for the general category aspirants .
upsc provides an age relaxation of 3 years for the OBC aspirants and
5 years for the SC/ST aspirants for the civil services examination.

    Number of attempts
    4 attempts for general category
    7 attempts for OBC category
    no limit for SC/ST category

    Hello Guest,

Yes why not? You can definitely prepare for Civil Service IAS Examination.

Are you worried about your marks. Then you donít need to worry more. There are many IAS officer who have a average score like you in graduation.

The key to crack this exam is focus, preserverance & honest devotion. Anything except these are valueless in IAS Examination.

It would be much better for you to start preparation in full dedication instead of thinking about your marks in graduation.

    Wish you best of luck.

    THANKS.

    Dear Friend,

You can definitely apply for IAS examination after completing honors.
Minimum education qualification required to apply for Civil Services Exam/IAS exam is Graduation in any discipline from recognised University.
Since you've done your honors than you are perfectly eligible to apply for IAS examination.
Apart from educational qualification your Age limit should be between 21 to 30 years if applying in General Category.
Reserved Category candidate will get age relaxation according to the guidelines of UPSC.
There is no required percentage in your education criteria mentioned in UPSC.
You just need to passed in your Graduation in order to apply for IAS examination.
Even candidate who has scored 40% in his graduation can apply for IAS examination.
That is why UPSC conducts competitive examination in order to give fair chance to every candidate applying for the IAS exam irrespective of his percentage he scored in his graduation.
    Hope it satisfies your query.

    All the best.
