Yes dear absolutely - every candidate who have following eligibility criteria may easily apply for Civil Services :

    1. Candidate must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university - There is no percentage bard in the degree for civil services exams

    2. Age of the candidate should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and reserved category candidates will get the relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/STs and 3 years of OBC category candidates, 10 years for PWDs and 5 years for Ex-Servicemen Candidates.

If you have above mentioned qualification then you can apply for UPSC Civil Services Exam and this is not necessary that only IITs candidates can apply for this exam and crack this exam - if you will prepare hard for this exam then you may also get selected at once but you must be dedicated for your study and leave all other things which are the Estoppel in the way of your success and prepare hard for this exam.

Re: Can a non-IITian apply for Civil Services?

    * Yes, a non IIT can apply for civil services examination...!

    * It is not that civil services exam is only meant for IITians...!

    * You have to understand that any graduate degree holder in any discipline from any recognised institution in India is eligible to appear in Civil services exam..!

    * It consists of 3 rounds- Prelims , main and interview...!

    * Preliminary or CSAT is the first round of Civil services exam and who are graduates or final year students are eligible to appear for this exam..!

    * The age criteria to appear is 21 to 30 years for OC, upto 33 for BC and upto 35 for SC/ST, upto 40 years for physically challenged...

    * You have to clear this successfully to appear in main exam..!

    * Main exam has 9 papers and prelims has 2 papers...!

    * You have to get good score in both...!

    * Finally, you will be called for an interview in Delhi if you got shortlisted in Main exam...!

    * After this you will have to attend 2 years of intense training and will be placed in higher posts based upon your scores and ranks...!

    * Number of attempts you can give for this test is 4 for OC, 7 for BC, any number for SC and ST..

    * Even appearing in a single paper in CSAT itself is considered as an attempt..!!

    * So, finally I say that not only IITiansm, graduates belonging from any institution is eligible for Civil services exam...!

    * Hope it has cleared your doubts...!
