    hello

upsc exam is nothing but civil service exam, conduct by upsc (union public service commission),every year.

civil service exam consists of following parts=

    1)preliminary test (objective base questions)
2)main exam (aspirants who cleared the preliminary test ,can go for main exam)
3)interview=short list candidate would be call for the interview.

coming towards negative marking=yes there is penalty for wrong answer answered (marked )by the candidate in the objective type only

tips=when not sure about the answer better not mark it as it may cause negative marking.leads to lower your records.
-first answer those questions in which you are confident.

Re: Details about negative marking scheme used in UPSC exams?

    hi
in the upsc examination, the negative marking is fixed. And there will be a deduction of 1/3 marks from each question, which t=you have attempted and that is wrong.
Therefore it is advisable that you should be very careful while attempting for the answers in the upsc competitive examination because there is the negative marking which can destroy your dreams to go to the next level.
And it is said, unless you are 80% sure about a particular question, don’t go for the answer it is better to leave the question rather than getting a minus 1.
