Examination Pattern of UPSC Indian Engineering Service Examination 2013-14

Objective Type Papers Section : Three papers will be conducted under this section -

Paper I - General Ability Test - There are two parts in this paper - 200 marks

Part A - General English Language

    Part B - General Studies

Paper II - Based on the selected optional/specialization subject of Engineering stream means any one of the - Civil or Electrical or Electronics & Telecommunication or Mechanical Engineering - 200 marks

Paper III - Your selected optional specialization subject - Civil or Electrical or Electronics and Telecommunication or Mechanical Engineering - 200 marks

    Conventional Type Papers Section :

    Paper I - Any one selected specialization subject - Civil/ Electrical/ Electronics and Telecommunication/ Mechanical Engineering - 200 Marks

Paper II - Any one opted specialization subject - Civil/ Electrical/ Electronics and Telecommunication/ Mechanical Engineering - 200 marks

This is the examination pattern for Indian Engineering Service examination decided and declared by UPSC board and finally I would say that before getting information from any source related to the examination or anything you must try to get official information first then trust because there are so many sources available which contains old or expired information but you always visit at the official website of the board that controls particular examination then read everything exactly

If you see previous examination pattern for IES 2012 then you will find no change in pattern of examination means UPSC board did not change anything in examination pattern but you should download official notification and get all other details because there may be some changes done in other requirements so you should get this first and read carefully

This year's UPSC IES examination has been conducted from 28th of June 2013 to first week of july please prepare for next and if you have participated in last exam then think positive and trust in yourself that you will qualify this examination

    All the best

UPSC has not changed the pattern of any other exam than Civil Services exam.IES pattern and syllabus are the same as it was last time. There will be total of 5papers.Paper I will be Oblective of General Ability test.
2nd day it will be PaperI objective and Paper II objective of your specific engineering branch.
3rd day there will be Paper I subjective and PaperII subjective of your engineering branch.
If you qualify in the 1st 3 objective papers combined, then your last 2 papers will be evaluated o else there will be no checking and hence direct elimination. All the best
