    Which exam(s) should I give after B.A (Police Administration) to become an IPS officer?

    Respected Sir/madam,
    I am vijay in which i am in the final year of my degree of ba police administration the next what i have to do to take the ips exam what are the next steps to be taken after my degree what are the exams to be taken from me to become an ips officer. Kindly send me the reply to my e-mail id so that i can prepare for it. Please reply and give me the proper information so that i can do my best.

    Hi,
    It is nice that you want to join IPS exam after BA graduation. IPS exam is conducted by UPSC to become IPS officer.

    IPS exam Eligibility;-

    >>You must be graduate

    >>Graduation from a recognized university

    >>Final year candidates are also Eligible

    >>No percentage requirement

    >>Your age should be between 21-30 years.

    >>You must be physically as well as mentally fit.

    >>You must be Indian citizen.


    IPS exam selection Process;-

    >>Preliminary exam, Mains exam AND Interview

    IPS exam physical standard;-

    Height for male candidates is 165 cms

    5 cm physical relaxation for Reserved category

    Height for Female candidates is 150 cms

    Minimum chest for Male is 84 cms

    Minimum chest for Female is 79 cms with 5 cms expansion.

    Dear friend,


    there is only a single examination an only a single way to become IPS officer which is CIVIL SERVICES EXAMINATION , it

    is a combined examination for all the civil services of central govt.

    it is good that you are in final year so you can apply for the same in next year , although the final year candidates are eligible to apply

    for the same but this year you are late because the exam is held in the month of May/June and the notification for the same is

    released in the month of January /February. and have approximate one month to fill the application form .


    but you are allowed to fill the application form only when you satisfies all the requirements of the examination as given below:-


    ##EDUCATION QUALIFICATION :-


    * CANDIDATE MUST BE GRADUATE FROM A UGC RECOGNIZED UNIVERSITY.


    ##NATIONALITY:-


    * CANDIDATE MUST HOLDS THE CITIZENSHIP OF INDIA.


    ##AGE LIMITATION-:


    *CANDIDATE MUST BE BETWEEN 21 TO 30


    ##RELAXATION CRITERIA-:


    * CANDIDATE BELONGS TO OBC CATEGORY THREE YEARS AGE RELAXATION.

    * CANDIDATE BELONGS TO SC/ST CATEGORY FIVE YEARS AGE RELAXATION.

    * CANDIDATE BELONGS TO A CENTRAL GOVERNMENT SERVANTS FIVE YEARS AGE RELAXATION.

    * CANDIDATE WHO ARE PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED TEN YEARS AGE RELAXATION.


    ##NO OF ATTEMPTS :-


    * GENERAL CANDIDATE CAN SIT ONLY FOUR TIMES IN CIVIL SERVICES EXAMS

    * OBC CANDIDATE CAN SIT ONLY SEVEN TIMES IN CIVIL SERVICES EXAMS

    * SC/ST CANDIDATE CAN SIT AT THE AGE OF 35 YEARS IN CIVIL SERVICES

    It will be better if you give Indian history/ Law/ Management as you would know everything about this topics and you can learn easily compared to other subjects... Law will be perfect as it can implement in your job also. You have to first apply and see your eligibility before applying. Age limit min 21 and max 30 for OC,33 for MBC, 35 for SC/ST... Degree should be obtained from a government approved college.

    To become I.P.S you must Write C.S.A.T Exam


    For that you must prepare well for the C.S.A.T exam


    C.S.A.T --- COMBINED DEFENSE SERVICES ..

    Hey
    If you have done graduation from a recognized university and your age lies in between 21-30 years then you can apply for the IPS exam.
    For this you will have to go to the UPSC online website http://www.upsconline.nic.in and fill the application form.
    After that you will get the roll number at your home from UPSC.

    IPS EXAM PROCEDURE


    1.Preliminary Exam
    2.Main Exam
    3.Interview

    You must have to clear the preliminary exam for entering in the main exam of IPS.
    The main exam is the most important exam which consisits the 9 papers.

    After clearing the main exam you will be called for interview and finally you will be posted on IPS.
