    Hello,

SC candidates avail reservation in recruitment which means that a definite percentage of SCs will be selected out of total notified number of seats. So, if all other SC candidates are scoring less than a general candidate then a SC candidate can get a post even with less marks. Generally cut-offs for SCs, STs and OBCs are less than that for General candidates.

    Thanks,

Dear there are some provision in the Indian Constitution and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar who wrote the complete constitution of India provided various provisions in the constitution for the SC/ST category candidates because before 50 years all SC/ST candidates were known as the lowest category and cast candidates and no body respected them at that time so that after seeing this situation Dr. Ambedkar used Article No. 368 of our Indian constitution and applied a amendment for the SC/ST category candidates of every religion and that's why all those candidates are getting reservation in various sector for various facilities because before that they were used to abused and annoyed by the high class peoples and they were restricted to go to the temple, use public facilities and they were only decided to clean the houses etc. but due to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar they are now getting enough facilities and reservation from the government and Dr. Ambedkar provided their best for the upliftment

SC/ST category candidates were getting reservation but the OBCs also were not satisfied with this and they also wanted the reservation so that the government again provided the relaxation for OBC category candidates but less than SC/STs and some of the example are following for the reservation :

    1. Number of Attempts or Age limitation for UPSC exams

    1. General Category - 4 times
    2. OBCs - 7 times
    3. SC/ST can apply till 35 years of age means they have no restriction to apply for this exam

Qualifying marks in UPSC exams as if we talk about the preliminary exam then a general category candidate need at least 55% marks, OBC needs 50% marks but a SC category candidates needs only 47% marks and ST category needs about 45% marks so you may see the situation of relaxation

Now you are thinking that why they are getting relaxation so that you should know and you may also see in the world that most of the - About - 80% or SC/ST category candidates are called - DALIT - In India and they have not enough sources to full fill their requirement which are necessary and so many are there who do not have enough things to survive in the world, most of the SC/ST category candidates are having various problems as - working as sweeper etc. some of them depends on Agriculture so that you should think that only they need to get the relaxation and General category candidates are about 90% those who have enough sources to survive in the world, We are not saying that each general category candidate but the general category candidates have almost more than SC/STs and due to that they may do something in the world and may survive well but what about SC/STs so that the government did it for the development of India.

I expect that you have understood everything regarding the reservation of SC/STs and satisfied with this.

    Thanks and All the best
