    dear if you want to become an IAS officer then you will have to clear civil service exam through UPSC. In this exam will have three step which you have cleared to get IAS officer post.

    1. Prelims Exam.
    2. Mains Exam.
    3. Interview.

    To become an IAS , you will have to qualify IAS exam, which is conducted by UPSC.

    IAS exam is conducted every year.

    The eligibility to give IAS exam are

    Candidate should be a graduate from a recognised university.

    Age of the candidate should be between 21 years to 30 years.

    So, if you fulfil these criteria, you can give IAS exam.

    The whole process of IAS is as follows :-

    IAS is a civil service exam conducted every year in India BY Union Public service commission.It is very good to see that candidate like you are going for the exam and want to get a reputed post through IAS. Every year lacs of candidate appear for the exam and compete for a very few jobs. That is why it is a tough nut to crack. The best way to clear the IAS is to prepare for the exam regularly and with full dedication.

    Eligibility criteria for IAS is as follows :-

    1. All graduate are eligible
    2. Graduation must be done from a recognized university
    3. Only Indian citizen are eligible
    4. Age limit is 20-30 years
    5. Graduation subject does not matter at all
    6. relaxation to those who belong to SC, ST and OBC
    7. Attempts are also limited that is why a thorough preparation in mandatory.
    8. No minimum percentage criteria for IAS.

    Exam is conducted in 3 stages.

    IAS Preliminary
    IAS Mains
    IAS Interview

    You said that you are a B.com graduate then yes you are eligible for the exam. all the very best for the exam.

    After completing IIT or CA you can apply for the Civil Service exam to be an IAS officer.

    So friend you should apply for the Civil Service exam. This exam is planned by the Union Public Service Commission once in a year.

    To apply for this exam you must have following eligibility criteria:

    You should have graduation degree in any stream from recognized university or its equivalent.

    Age should be between 21 to 30 years.

    Age relaxation is available for the eligible category

    SC/ST + 5 years

    OBC + 3 years

    PH + 10 years

    You must have Indian citizenship.

    You can apply for the civil service exam through UPSC official website.

    UPSC will update the notification on 2/2/2013.

    eligibility for CDS, OTA & IAS ARENationality:-The candidate must be the citizen of India to apply for the Indian Administrative Service & Indian Police Service.Age Limit: -The candidate should be minimum 21 years of age and the maximum age is 29 years.Educational Qualification: -The candidate should have a degree completed from any of the institutes established by an Act of Parliament or any University deemed by the University Grant Commission under section 3, Act, 1956Number of attempts: -Every eligible candidate is allowed to attempt the CivilServices Examination four times.for cds additional physical qualification is required as follows:1.The candidate must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease2.The minimum acceptable height for male candidates is 157.5 cms. ( 157 cms for Navy and 162.5 cms for Air Force ). For Women candidates minimum acceptable height is 152 cms.3.The hearing should be normal4.A male candidate should be able to read 6/6 in a distant vision chart with each eye with or without glasses. For women candidates the minimum acceptable visual acuity are Distant Vision (corrected) better eye 6/6, worse 6/18.
