    Scheme of exam:

    It contains 5 papers (3 objective papers of 2 hours duration each + 2 descriptive papers of 3 hours duration each), out of which one objective paper with General Studies, 2more objective papers with Engineering and 2 descriptive papers with Engineering.

    a. First day: General Studies + General English complete objective paper, for 200 marks

    b. Second day: Paper I for 200 marks and Paper II for 200 marks of Objective type technical.

    c. Third day: Paper I for 200 marks and Paper II for 200 marks of Descriptive type technical.

    d. Personal Interview round contains another 200 marks.

    e. So, total will be for 1000 marks for written and 200 marks for Personal Interview


    To prepare on your own:
    1. Assess your performance by solving previous question papers of IES
    2. According to your performance schedule your timing
    3. Get some standard books recommended by UPSC
    4. keep assessing your performance at regular intervals

    dear

    for Professional Knowledge & General Awareness, there are lots of Mediums available.
    Like, Televisions, Internet, Libraries, Books, News Papers etc.
    For this two particulars, you should have a huge knowledge!

    -Don't waste your time during the examination.
    - Give First priority to the Easy and known questions.
    - Don't rush to solve the tough ones.
    - Be calm and confident, don't be nervous.
    - Don't give much time for a particular question.
    - If you don't get the answer, leave it and go for the next one

    UPSC conduct IES exam every year for the purpose of selection of deserve candidates in technical field.

    Eligibility Criteria For IES Exam:

    1. Engineering degree

    2. Age Limit: 21 to 30 years

    Tips For Preparation:

    1. manage your time table
    2. Start preparation according to syllabus.
    3. Study best study material for IES exam.
    4. Improve your English.
    5. Try to solve previous year papers. It is most important part of preparation.

    Dear friend,

    once you have decided to prepare from home you should be ready to put lot of hardwork.

    Take the syllabus in hand and collect last years solved question paper to get clarity about the expectations of the examiner.

    Make long term and short term goals.

    You can take teh help of your teachers.

    Choose the study materials properly and stick to them.do not read too much of books available in the market.

    Manage your time effectively.

    yes dear ,
    you can prepare well.

    i must suggest you to start your preparation with the NCERT books,

    to have better knowledge of concepts of the high level,
    you must have to gain the base knowledge of all those concepts and the base concepts are in the NCERT books,

    you should first manage your time for study,

    make a time table giving justice to every subject,
    give proper time to every subject and prepare well.

    also for better preparation you can download the previous year question papers form the official website of upsc,

    solve more and more practice papers in the last days of the exam.
