    How can I start preparation for IAS exam? Should I start with prelims or mains? Refer some books for Economics & Geography?

    hello sir, I AM THE BEGINER FOR THE PREPARATION FOR TH IAS EXAM...I WANT TO ASK HAW CAN I START THE PREPARATION FOR THIS EXAM.........FIRSTLY , I CANT DECIDE WHETHER WHICH PRELIUM OR MAINS I SHOULD BE FIRST STARTED.. AND SECONDLY ABOUT BOOKS ....LIKE FOR ECO. , GEO. , ......NOW I AM IN 3 RD YEAR.IN MECHANICAL ENG. .SO PLZ SEND ME ALL SUCH INFORMATION...

    Start with reading news papers daily. magazines available on UPSC portal website. and IAS planner.

    Economics and geography both are important subjects for you.

    >> For UPSC Exam minimum education qualification is Graduation in any field from Recognized University.

    >>Final Year Candidate can also apply for UPSC Exam, but candidate should verify before mains exam if he/she Clears prelims exam.

    >> Age limit is:

    >>> For General Category Candidate 21-30 years

    >>> For OBC Candidate 21-33 years

    >>> For SC/ST Candidate 21-35 years

    >> You can give Following times Attempt according to Category:

    General Category: 4 Attempts

    OBC: 7 Attempts

    PH: 7 Attempts

    SC/ST: No Limits

    >> Syllabus for UPSC:

    There are many part of study that are important in Civil Service Exam.

    Like:History,Sociology.Geography,Indian Constitution,English.

    >> But Sociology is important then all other and has large data.

    >> You can prepare for it by referring books of Standard 7 to 12th of NCERT.
