i suggest u apply online from the next time ..
its quite easy compared to conventional process.
nw pertaining to ur question abt infantry.
1st u need to appear for CDSE examinations.
then u go through SSB's then medicals .
once u join IMA in ur last sem u need to opt for infantry branch and u get posted into it..
There's nothinng specific core related entry in army .
you have to go through a common entrance and after you complete your training , you will be asked about your preferance and if there's any vacany over there ... you will surely get the opportunity ...
And yeah ... nowadays every examination's application is available online ..
so don't go for your paper application , it may not reach to the office due to post offices delays or defaults .. but online methods are really secure and easy ... and yeah in the process you will contribute towards "save paper" compaign ...
