    Hi Friend,

There are Three Steps in Civil Service/UPSC Exam to Become IPS Officer:

    1) Prelims Exam

    2) Mains Exam

    3) Personal Interview

    >> Procedure of Examination:

    >> First Notification of Exam is Released

    >> Candidate fill form for Preferred Post.

    >> Than Date of Prelim Exam is Released.

    >> Prelim Exam is Conducted after 1 and Half month

    >> After Prelims Exams Result is declare and candidate who have cleared Prelims will fill form for mains Exam and Select Subject

    >> And Main Exam is conducted and after 1 and Half month Result is Declared.

    >> So Candidate who have cleared Mains exam will face Personal Interview.

    >> So you need to Clear two Exams and One Interview.

    I hope you understand.
