Re: How many times a SC candidate can attempt UPSC exam?

    Dear Friend

UPSC stands for the Union Public service commission and you have not mentioned the name of the examination for which you are asking about the no for attempts for a sc candidate.

From my point of view I think you are asking about the Civil services examinations.

The no of attempts in Civil services examinations for candidates of all category are as follows:

    1.General:4

    2.OBC:7

3.SC/ST: No limit in attempts.SC/ST candidates can attempt all the examinations that fall within their age limit.

OBC and SC/ST candidates also get relaxations in age criteria also.

    General:21-30 years

    OBC:21-33 years

    SC/ST: 21-35 years.

In some other examinations like Indian engineering services and Indian forest services ,SC/ST candidates have same no of attempts.

The educational qualifications remains same for all category students.

    Hope the information helps you.

For any other details ,you can visit www.upsc.gov.in

Re: How many times a SC candidate can attempt UPSC exam?

UPSC conducts many exams like Civil Services, CDS,NDA etc.

The main eligibility criteria for many of these exams is any degree from recognized university.

The age criteria is minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years for general category.

There is age relaxation as follows

    3 years for OBC.

    5 years for SC/ST.

    10 years for PWD.

Coming to the number of attempts for UPSC Exam

4 attempts are allowed for general category

7 attempts are allowed for OBC Category

    No restriction for SC/ST Category
    .

So, as you belong to SC Category, there is no restriction for you on the number of attempts given for the exam.

You can attempt the exam as many as you can, until you satisfy the age criteria.

Dear aspirant,There is no limits for the SC/ST candidates for civil services examination. As the age requirement for SC/ST are 21 to 35 years of age that means you will get the 5 years age relaxation for that. So till the age of 35 you dont have any limitation for attempts, so please do not worry about the attempts.Make sure that you must be a graduate in any discipline from recognised university. You need to clear some steps for the selection in the same such as written exams and personal interview.1) CSAT 400 marks , 2papers 200marks each need to clear both.2) MAINS exam 2000 marks. After clearing this you will be called for the personal interview.3) after clearing the personal interview you will be definitely selected. For more details please visit www.upsc.gov.in Thank you

All SC candidates are exempt from payment of any fees to appear in the UPSC Exams.

Re: How many times a SC candidate can attempt UPSC exam?

Number of attempts allowed to appear for various examinations of UPSC board

General Category candidates - 4 times

OBC Category candidates - 7 times

SC and ST category candidates - No limit but only till crossing maximum age limit of that examination

Dear there is no limit to appear for any UPSC examination for SC category candidates means you can apply for all UPSC exams until you complete maximum age limit after claiming for upper age relaxation so this time, I would like to suggest you to use your quota because Central and States Indian governments are dedicated to reserved category candidates and provides different types of facilities to the SC and STs so I would say that you should take the advantage of various schemes run by the government and prepare well for examination because there are some coaching institutes that provides free education for various competitive examinations to SC, ST and OBC category candidates that is why you need to use these facilities and crack the examination

This time you may apply for Combined Defense Service Examination till 24th June 2013 and may appear for this examination at 08-09-2013

To apply for IMA section, you should be graduate from a recognized university and your age should be between 19-24 years

To apply for INA section, you must have a bachelor's degree in engineering and age should not be less than 19 years and more than 22 years

To apply for AFA section, you should be graduate with mathematics and physics as mandatory subjects from a recognized university
