If you want to become an IAS officer then you need to apply for the civil services examination for the same because after applying for the civil services exam a candidate needs to go through the written examination which is a very big procedure in this exam because the examination pattern include lots of papers so a candidate should be a good in general studies and the subjects that he or she like to choose as an optional subjects.
Well according to the notification the examination pattern is as follows-
-CSAT stands for the civil services aptitude test.
It includes the two papers in the first step both the papers will include the general studies of 200 marks of each.
So the total marks for the same will be 400.
    -MAINS examination.
Into this a candidate should need to select the optional subjects according to his qualification or interest.
So he is not bound to go for that which he not likes to apply.
There will be total 9 papers in the Mains exam.
Total marks for the same will be 2000.
After clearing the mains candidates will be asked for the interview.
For more details log on to www.upsc.gov.in
    Thank you.
