The percentage is always a huge issue regarding the job and the admission in the universities and colleges as it provides the idea about the capability of the student, the marks gives an idea about the strength and the potential of the students.

The UPSC exams have several stages of test and interviews, one have to pass all the stages in order to get the job and the process is so very rigorous and hard that only good and excellent candidates survive till the end, which gives the capability idea of the candidates.

The UPSC exams does not have any issue with the percentage, only the degree with the pass marks from a recognized university is necessary. There is no minimum criteria of the percentage regarding the UPSC exams(except the SCRA exams, which is for the 10+2 passed). You do not have to worry regarding the percentage, your 44% are enough to make you eligible, but you must remember one fact that the process is very hard and tough, you must have iron determination to crack the exams.
