Re: If I complete BA in private mode will I be allowed to write UPSC exam?

It does not matter that by which mode you have done your graduation the main thing is that the graduation you have done from the university should be recognized by UGC(University Grant Commission)only after that you can apply for the UPSC exams.
If your degree is from any private university which is not recognized by UGC then you can not apply for the UPSC exams.
So first check that is your university is UGC approved or Not?
If it is UGC approved then you can apply for any of the exams in UPSC.
For UPSC exams your age must be in between 21-30 years.
Relaxation is also provided to the reserved category candidats by UPSC.

Actually the university in which you are doing your degree should be government approved i.e. it should have been registered for UGC act. If your private institute has government approval then you can appear...if your age and other limitations satisfy the upsc rules..

    Dear Aspirant!

Yes, you are eligible to apply for IAS examination even if you completed your Graduation in Private or Distance mode.

But follow below rule to get eligible:-

    ### You must get a degree from recognized university incorporated by an Act of the central Government or State Government or other educational Institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared as Deemed University under section of the University Grants Commission Act,1956 or equivalent.

So, before getting admission in Graduation you have to get clear the above rules...

    Age limits are:
    General - 21 to 30 years
    SC/ST - 21 to 35 years
    OBC - 21 to 33 years.

so see the details about the examination.

    eligibility criteria:-

    2. Only the Indian citizenship holders are eligible to apply.

    Age required:-

    2. for obc category aspirants:- between 21-33 y.

    3. for sc/st category aspirants:- between 21-35 y.

and don't forget about the attempts allowed to the candidates according to there category,, yes there is a barrier of no. of attempts

allowed to the candidate to sit in the examination.

    no. of attempts allowed:-

    * 4 attempts allowed to general category .

    * 7 attempts allowed to obc category.

    * no any barrier of attempts for sc/st category aspirants.

do hard work for the examination and don't believe on faulty information, if you want to find any query then visit to the official

    website for the same:- http://www.upsc.gov.in
