IFS and CSE will have same preliminary examination and the syllabus for this exam is same as that of civils preliminary exam for past 2 years. So, the same book will be useful for ifs prelims also. The list is as follows:

HISTORY:
Bipin Chandra, NCERT old books for class XI and XII

GEOGRAPHY:
NCERT books for class IX to XII and a good ATLAS

POLITY:
Vajiram Yellow book for Polity would suffice

SCIENCE AND TECH : Spectrum Publication
ECONOMICS: NCERT for class XI and XII, Newspaper
INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS, SPORTS, AWARDS, PERSONALITIES, ENVIRONMENT, GOVT. NEW PROGRAMMES AND POLICIES: Newspaper, Economic Survey, Yojana, Civil Services Chronicle.
