    My date of birth is 16th January 1991. Am I eligible to write UPSC IES Exam in 2012?

    Dear Applicant,

    -You seem to have completed your 31 years of age in January,2012.Hence,you can appear for the IES examinations only under the circumstances that you belong to the reserved Category and fulfil the other educational requirements of the exam.

    -Moreover,the IES exams 2012 are due to be conducted on the 15th of June,2012.Even the admit cards are now available online.Since these exams are conducted only once in an year,you have missed applying for the exams this year.
    -Mentioned below is the complete eligibility requirements to appear the IES exams-
    # You must be a Citizen of India,
    or,You must be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan,

    IES stands for indian engineering services,So to write IES you have to persue engineering full time course and also you are eligible as you have crossed 21 yrs.

    IES stands for Indian Engineering Service Examination and this examination is conducted Once in a year . This year IES exam notification was already out and last date for receipt of application was also already closed . The examination will be held on 15/06/12 .

    IES Conducts for recruitment of :-

    Civil Engineering
    Mechanical Engineering
    Electrical Engineering
    Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering .

    Eligibility Criteria for this examination :-

    Candidate must either Citizen of India or Subject of Bhutan or Subject of Nepal or a Tibetan refugee settled permanently in India , before 1962 .

    Candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years at the time of appearing for this examination and relaxation is applicable for this examination . Three year relaxation for OBC candidates and Five year relaxation for SC/ST candidates .

    Candidate who have passed their engineering degree of a recognized University or equivalent qualification and there is no minimum marks required for this examination . Candidate who are appearing in the final year of degree course can also eligible to apply for this examination .

    There is no limitation of attempts for this examination .

    This year last date for receipt of application was already closed and if you are missed then wait for the next notification .

    Next notification will be publish in the month of Feb or Mar in the official website of UPSC as well as employment news and other leading news papers .

    the age limit is for ies exam is 21 to 30 years,

    your age is now 21 years age. you are eligible for the exam.

    but condition is your graduation is complete

    if u appear in the final year then also eligible for the exam.

    The age requirement for UPSC IES exam is of 21 years.

    so you are eligible for the exam as , you have crossed the minimum age requirement.

    As if calculate your age it will be (2012-1991=21 years + 5 months) which clearly indicates that you are within the age limit mentioned for the IES,

    besides you have to comply with other thing's also

    1.indian nationality or subject of it

    2.age within 21-30 years relaxed for reserved cateogory according to norms.

    3.engineering graduate from recognised university in any descpline but you have to make choices among 4 branches specific for the examination even if you are from other branch
    a)mechanical engineering

    b)civil engineering

    c)electronics & telecommunication

    d)electrical engineering

    permissible attempts=UNLIMITED

    Your age now above 21 years old so you are applicable for IES exam exam because the minimum age criteria for IES exam is 21 years.

    IES exam is conducted by UPSC in once time in year.

    If you have completed engineering discipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam
    1.Civil Engineering
    2.Electrical Engineering
    3.Mechanical engineering.
    4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

    M.Sc degree or its equivalent with wireless communication, electronics, Radio Physics, Radio engineering as a special subject are also applicable for IES exam.

    The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.

    As your age is currently 21 years so that you are eligible for the IES exam .
    The criteria for the IES exam is below :
    -> candidate should done their B.E. from any recognized university from any of the following branches like Mechanical , Civil , Electrical and ECE .
    -> Age should be between 21-30 years for the general cast , 3 years relaxion for the obc , 5 years relaxion for the sc/st.ex-serviceman .
    There are no restriction for the number of attempts , one can give as many time they want .
    The IES exam will be on 15th june so that you will miss this year exam and you have to wait for the next year exam .

    if you have completed your graduation from recognised university you can apply for upsc exam!
    age is not any matter for you since you are just 23 , which is applicable for upsc exam!

    Dear, As per the Advertisement of 2012 of IES Exam, those candidates who are born later than 1st january 1991 are not eligible. So, don't panic and take it positively...that you got so much time to do your best in the coming year. Prepare as your best so that you got a best Rank in the Exam. So, Good Luck...

    -According to the age of yours you have provided here,you must have completed 21 years of age in January,2012.Hence,beyond doubt,if you meet the other eligibility requirements,then you are eligible to appear for the IES exams,2012.
    -However,I doubt that if you have not applied early for the Indian Engineering Service exams,then you would miss the opportunity this time,as the IES exams are to be conducted on the 15th June,2012.
    So,you can appear only if you have applied earlier.

    Yes, you are eligible for IES exam 2012 because according to eligibility of IES, candidate must attain the age of 21 years on 1st August 2012 and your D.O.B is 16 january 1991,it means 21 years is completed, so you are very well eligible.

    you can eligible to write UPSC IES exam only if you have completed or appearing in final year of B.tech in one of the stream Civil,Mechanical, Electric, Electronic and Telecommunication.

    yes dear you are eligible for IES exam
    because for IES exam candidate must have age between 21 to 30 years and should have completed graduation from a recognized university or institute.....and as according to your date of birth you have crossed 21 years of age so yes you are eligible now for IES....

    according to your date of birth you can apply for upsc IES exam if your age is between 21-30 years and you have completed your graduation form recognized university under UGC.

    Eligibility criteria for IES exam

    i.e. the candidates must have been born not latter than 1st Aug 1991.

    dear aspirant,


    for the IES exam,
    aspirants are required to have degree of engineering in
    electrical,
    mechanical,
    electronics and telecommunication,
    civil engineering.


    so if you have done one of the above mentioned then you are eligible for the upsc exam,
    also along with that your age should be between 21 to 30 years.


    if you belongs to OBC category then you will get age relaxation of 3 years.
    if you belongs to SC/ST category then you will get age relaxation of 5 years.

    as you mentioned your date of birth as 16-01-1991
    so your age is 21 years,
    so you can apply for the IES exam,

    Now your date of birth is 16/01/1991 which means your age is 21 year 6 months 16 days on 1st August, 2012.

    If you fulfill the below eligibility criteria for the IES exam then you can give the IES exam .

    Education Qualification :
    => You should either complete your B.E. /B.Tech from any recognized university
    or
    => Currently you are in final year of your graduation .

    Age limit :
    21-30 for general cast
    21-33 for obc cast
    21-35 for sc/st cast

    As currently your age is above 21 years so that you fulfill the eligibility criteria .

    But if you don't fulfill the education criteria then you should first of all complete that criteria till you not eligible for the exam .

    If you fulfill both the criteria then you are eligible for giving the exam .

    You have to select any one of category for giving the exam .

    Yes, friend you can apply for the IES exam.

    IES stands for Indian Engineering Service.

    IES exam is organized by UPSC every year for the recruitment of engineer in central government posts. Through IES exam you will be appointed as Assistant Executive Engineer post.
