    My date of birth is 19-08-1981 & belong to OBC. Can I attempt IAS exam next year?

    Dear,
    The age limit for IAS examination is 21 to 30 years. The upper age limit for OBC is 03 years, for SC/ST is 05 years. There is also 04 attempts for General, 07 attempts for OBC and up to 35 years for SC/ST candidates. Yes, If you have not lost your seven attempts till yet, then as per your date of birth, you have the last chance for next 2014 CSAT examination.     Your date of Birth is 19-08-1981, therefore your age is 31 years, 8 months and 21 days.

    General Age limits is 21-30 years.

    You belong to OBC category, then you can claim Your Age relaxation of 3

    Your age is 31 years, 8 month and 21 days.

    General age limit for IAS exam is 21-30 years.

    Age relaxation is given to reserved category students.

    3 years age relaxation for OBC category

    5 Years for SC/ST category

    Number Of Attempts;-

    4 times for General category Candidates

    7 times for OBC candidates

    No limit for SC/ST category

    You can apply IAS next year.

    Therefore Start Preparation from now to crack this exam.

    Mains exam pattern change from this year.

    Civil services Preliminary exam consist two papers of General studies having 400 marks.

    2 hours are given to each General studies papers.

    Civil services Mains exam pattern changed from this year.

    2 General Studies Papers and 4 optional subjects papers (2 each)

    These 6 papers constitute 1800 marks (300 by 6)

    There is an Essay Paper and Personal Interview as well of 200 and 300 marks each, which amounts to 2300 marks
