    Hi dear

Sorry!! you cannot appear in Civil Services Exam 2015 as you will exceed the maximum age limit.

The upper age limit for UPSC CSE is 30 years(for general category applicants) and you will be 31 in 2015.

You should note that CSE does not allow age relaxation to female candidates.

    Good luck......

    Hi

I want to tell you that you can apply for the UPSC exam in 2013 and 2014.

Because in these years you are eligible for the UPSC exams.

The age limit for the UPSC exams is 21-30 years for general categories candidates.

So in the 2015 your age will be above 30 years so you will be not eligible for the UPSC exams in that year.

You can apply for the UPSC exam in this year for this you should have a bachelor degree from any of the recognized universitry of India.

For more information you can see the official website of UPSC www.upsc.gov.in

    Thank you....

Re: My date of birth is 24th August 1984. I am a general category girl. Can I appear in UPSC exam 2015?

    Dear friend

Civil services examinations are conducted every year by the Union Public service commission for the selection of candidates for the different services like Indian Administrative services,Indian Police services ,Indian Revenue services etc.

Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a university that is recognized by the University Grants commission is the minimum requirement for the exam.Final year candidates can also appear for the exam

Talking about the age limitations of this exam:

The minimum age limit is same for all the candidates but the upper age limit depends upon the category to which you belong :

Minimum age limit is 21 years.

The upper age limit is :

    >>For general candidates is 30 years

    >>For other backward caste it is 33 years

    >>For SC/ST: 35 years.

Since you belong to general category and the upper age limit is only 30 years for you ,so according to your date of birth you will not be able to eligible for the Civil services examinations 2015.

Hope the information helps you.If you have any other query regarding the civil services examination ,please leave your message here.

    all the best

Re: My date of birth is 24th August 1984. I am a general category girl. Can I appear in UPSC exam 2015?

NO, you cannot appear in the UPSC Civil Services Exams in the Year 2015.

Please be advised that maximum age for the General category candidates to apply for this exam is 30 years

You would be completing 30 years in 2014 and you are telling that you want to appear for the exams in 2015, so at that time you would be 31 years, so cannot apply for this exams.
Also note that Girls are not provided any additional age relaxations.

I would suggest that if you have already completed your Graduation in any stream than apply for the UPSC exams next year
Next year would be your last chance to give this exam if you belong to General Category

In the Exam Age relaxations is given to OBC candidates for 3 years and SC/ST candidates for 5 years

Eligibility Criteria for UPSC civil service 2013

Must hold a degree in any discipline from a recognized university or should have passed bachelor's degree examination of at least 3 or 4 years from a recognized university and if you are pursuing final year of degree then also may apply for this exam

Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years on general conditions but reserved category candidates gets relaxation in upper age which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates

According to your mentioned DOB you have completed - 28 years, 4 months and 8 days of your age as on 01-01-2013 which is requirement according to notification of UPSC civil service exam 2013 so that you have an opportunity to apply for this exam and this is your second last opportunity then you will only be eligible to apply for UPSC Civil Service 2014 examination then you will cross your 30 years of age and you will be ineligible for civil service 2015 examination

So you should not wait for 2015 examination and apply for next civil service examination because this year's civil service exam dates has been over and if you wish then you can start your preparation for this examination because preparing already for this exam will be bette for you and you must take coaching for this exam

I have attached notification of this recruitment in which you will get all details so download

Re: My date of birth is 24th August 1984. I am a general category girl. Can I appear in UPSC exam 2015?

The age criteria required to give UPSC Exam is minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years for general category candidates.

There is Upper age relaxation for reserved category candidates.

    3 years for OBC.

    5 years for SC/ST.

    10 years for PWD.

There is no special age relaxation for female candidates.

By 2015, you will cross the maximum age limit to apply for the exam.

So, you will not be eligible to give UPSC Exams in 2015.

Its better you apply for them in 2014, so that you will be eligible according to your age.

But you need to possess any degree from recognized University to give these exams.

So, if you have a valid degree, apply for the exams next year itself and you can start your preparations from now, if you wish to give the exams next year.
