My vision power is -6D (Non-Pathological Myopia). Is there any rule that I cannot wear contact lenses during physical fitness check up for IPS? Will they reject me because my eye power is too high? Can't I just wear contact lenses?

    Eye sight/vision standard for IPS:
    1) Distant vision:
for standard eye: 6/6 or 6/9
for worst eye: 6/9 or 6/12
    2) near vision for good eye: J 1
near vision for worst eye: J 2
    3) vision should be stereoscopic
    4) correction is by lenses only.
So no problem, you can wear contact lenses during physical fitness check up for Indian Police service.
If your power is so high, then you will not be given IPS post, you can choose any other posts like IRS, IAAs etc, depending on your score in the examination.

    >> 6/6 0r 6/9 for worst Eye

    >> Near vision J1 for good eye and J2 for worst eye

    >> Correction is by lenses only and by no other means such as LASIK laser eye surgery or keratotomy
