The criteria for appearing in Civil Services Exam is :
    1. Nationality : Indian
    2. Academic qualification : Graduate in any stream from any recognized university.
    3. Age limits : 21-30 (OPEN), 21-33 (OBC), 21-35(sc/st).

So you are not eligible as you are not a graduate.

Re: Is it possible to become an IAS officer after 12th?

    Dear Friend

I am very sad to inform you that 12th passed candidates are not allowed to become IAS officer as the minimum academic qualifications required to become IAS officer is bachelor's degree in any stream form a recognised university.

So since you are only 10+2 passed ,hence it is not possible for you to become IAS officer.

I would like to tell you that the 1st step is that you should complete bachelor's degree in your desired stream.During your final year of graduation ,you can apply for the civil services examinations .

After that you should fulfill the age limitations that is you should be between 21-30 years.IF you are from pbc or sc/st,your upper age will be relaxed to 33 years and 35 years. You must be an Indian citizen.

You should start your preparation form the very first year of graduation as the examination is very tough and you may also join the given below coaching centers for the better preparation:

    1.Rao's IAS academy

    2.Chanakya's IAS academy

    3.Career point

    4.Vajiram and Ravi IAS academy.

Let me aware you about the examination pattern of civil services examination that is it contains of three stages :

    1.Civil services aptitude test

    2.Main examination

    3.Personal interview

Re: Is it possible to become an IAS officer after 12th?

No It is not possible to become an IAS Officer after completing 12th class because the minimum eligibility for UPSC Board IAS exam is - Candidates must posses a graduate degree or have completed his/her degree in any discipline or subject from a recognized university with at least 50% marks and the age of the candidate should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years but OBC category candidates can apply till the age of 33 years and SC/ST category candidates can apply for this exam till 35 years of the age and a general category candidate can appear for this exam only for 4 times and a OBC category candidate can appear for this exam only for 7 times but there is no limit for SC/ST category candidate's means they may appear until the ends of the age limit.

You will have to complete your degree after 12th class in any discipline from a recognized university then you would be able to apply for IAS Prelims and on the basis of 12th you can not apply for IAS Pre exam.

    Hi

    IAS - Indian Administrative Services

This is basically an Entrance Examination conducted and held on National Basis such that it accounts for the recruitment of jewel candidates for the various Administrative Offices.

Now as per their Eligibility Criteria, a candidate should be a minimum graduate in ANY stream from a recognized college or university from India with good percentage of marks.
Also age should be within 21-30 years for GEN, 33 for OBC and 35 for SC/ST.

The number of attempts allowed are also limited to 4 for GEN, 7 for OBC and unlimited for the SC/ST.

Thus as per your query, I would have to say that NO YOU CANNOT BECOME AN IAS OFFICER AFTER CLASS 12TH! You have to take up a minimum graduation in a particular stream and then later apply for this exam.
