    UPSC organizes the Civil Service Aptitude Test for the most reputed and attractive post of India.

    Through Civil exam you can be appointed at the post of IAS, IPS or IRS.

    CSAT exam is conducted once in a year at national level.

    i would not like to make you confused by providing a bunch of never ending confusing books as i know that you wont be reading them out neither is it possible for all.now going straight to the point i would like to suggest you to go for ramesh publication house's books for civil services written by mr.R.Gupta and also you can opt for upkar publication house's books.best of luck.

    It is nice that you want to join civil services after B.tech. You are eligible for civil service in final year also.


    Eligibility;-

    1)you must be passed graduation degree from a recognized university.There is no percentage requirement.

    2)Age limit is 21-30 years.

    3_You must be Indian.

    4)You must be physically as well as mentally fit.

    UPSC exam consist CSAT(preliminary),Mains exam and interview.

    For preliminary examination you may follow these books

    2)IAS Prelims/CSAT Civil Services:18 years Topicwise Solved Questions,Disha Publications
    3)General Studies 14000 plus Objective questions,Manohar Pandey,Arihant Publications

    But for main examination you have to studies general study in detail so you may refer these books

    As you are in final year of B.tech you are eligible to apply for UPSC Civil Services Exam. but this year last date of receipt of application is already gone. so you have to wait for next year. Civil Services Exam is conducted by UPSC for the posts in IAS, IPS, IRS etc.

    Civil Services Exam is conducted in Three Phases:
    >>Prelims(CSAT)
    >>Mains
    >>Interview

    >>you must have completed or appearing in final year of graduation.

    >>your age must be within 21 years to 30 years on 1 August of the year of exam. there is relaxation in upper age limit up to 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
