    1) Study books of 9,10,11,12 and subjects are history, Sociology, Geography,English

    2) You can also study magazine like Chronicle and Newspaper like The Hindu.

    3) Daily watching of news for daily update.

    Preparation of above material will sure help you to pass Civil Service Exams.

    Dear Aspirant

    Make your branch paper strong if it is one of the following
    Civil Engineering
    Electrical Engineering
    Mechanical Engineering

    Otherwise you have to prepare different subject for your optional paper for main examination

    By the way first start preparing for preliminary examination.
    Paper I of preliminary examination consists of following syllabus
    1)Current events of national and international importance.
    2)History of India and Indian National Movement.
    3)Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
    4)Indian Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
    5) Economic and Social Development Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc.
    6)General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change
    7)General Science.
    Paper II- (200 marks) Duration: Two hours
    1)Comprehension Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
    2)Logical reasoning and analytical ability
    3)Decision-making and problem-solving
    4)General mental ability Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level),
    5)Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. - Class X level)
    6)English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level).

    Apart from these be updated on current affairs through newspaper and magazines
