    Which two optional subjects should I choose for UPSC exams being a B.Sc(Microbiology and Chemistry) graduate?

    I am student of B.Sc. with microbiology & chemistry . Sir, kindly suggest me which two optional subjects shoud I choose for UPSC exams. Thanks.

    Of-course you can do the preparation for IAS/IPS examination. If you want to take Science in UPSC Mains exam then you can take.

    But I suggest you to take Arts Subjects like History, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy etc. If you have good writing skills then you can absolutely Crack the Exam.

    After that you have to go for the Question Pattern of Exam so you should download and print Previous Years Question Papers from www.upsc.gov.in

    Model Test Papers and Sample Papers are most important for Practice.

    My Dear Aspirant

    Well for the upsc exam you have to full fill the requirements

    The candidate must be pass in graduation from a recognized university

    And your age should be between 21-30

    And for the exam their is 3 levels:

    Pre exam
    Mains exam
    Interview

    In pre their is compulsory subjects like english and gk

    And then you have to choose your optional

    And my friend choose your self your optional subjects

    As once you have chooses the optional to change the subjects is not possible

    Also it is your wish and choose subjects like chemistry

    And the subjects that you have knowledge very good

    dear friend,

    as chemistry is your subject so definitely you choose chemistry as first subject.
    and another subject you can choose from history,Philosophy,Geography.

    UPSC conducts the several competitive exams every year. This exam is conducted once a year .

    You can get following post through civil service exam

    IAS

    IPS

    IFS

    IRS

    Etc.


    Required Criteria for civil service exam

    You should be Graduate from any recognized university or its equivalent.

    Final year student are also eligible to apply for CSE exam

    Age should be 21 to 30 years.

    Age relaxation

    SC/ST + 5 years

    OBC + 3 years

    PH + 10 years

    You must be Indian.


    Exam stages

    Preliminary exam ( 400 marks)

    Main exam ( 2300 marks)

    Interview


    Optional subject for civil service exam

    Agriculture

    Animal husbandry & vetinary science

    Anthropology

    Botany

    Chemistry

    Civil engineering

    Commerce and accountancy

    Economics

    Geography

    Indian History

    Management

    Mathematics

    Mechanical engineering

    Medical science

    Philosophy

    Physics

    Political science & international relations

    Psychology

    Sociology

    Statistics

    Zoology


    You can choose two optional subjects in the above subject as per your interest.

    You should choose only that subject in which you are very skilled.

    History


    Political science


    Geography


    Sociology


    This subject is most popular for the ias exam. And we got the study material from the market and the internet easily.
