Re: What is the age limit for UPSC exams?

    Dear friend,

Age limit is different for various categories and it is also a very important criteria to apply for the exam because without fulfilling this criteria you can not sit for the exam.

So you must have correct information about this.

Here below are the details of age limit for civil services exam:-

See if you belong to general category you must belong to age group 21 to 30 yrs.

If you belong to OBC category then you will be given 3 yrs of age relaxation,
i.e, candidates with 21 to 33 yrs are eligible.

If you belong to SC/ST category then you will be given 5 yrs of age relaxation,
then your age limit will be 21 to 35 yrs.

Similarly follows your no. of attempts for the exam. In this age limit only you can apply for the exams and that too with limited no. of attempts.

    Here are the details:-

For general you have 4 no. of attempts.

Belonging to OBC category you can have 7 no. of attempts.

And for SC/ST category you have no restrictions i.e, unlimited no. of attempts.

*** For exams like SCRA your age limit must be between 17 to 21 yrs.

*** For NDA you should lie between age group of 16.5 to 19 yrs with no age relaxation for any category.
