Re: What is the basic difference between IAS and UPSC?

    Dear Friend

There is lots of difference between UPSC and IAS.

UPSC stands for the Union Public service commission .This is the council or you can say that examination conducting body of India which is authorized by the Central Government of India to conduct entrance examinations for the selection of candidates into different government body at national level.

It conducts various examinations like :

    >>Civil services examinations

    >>Indian Engineering services

    >>Indian Forest services exams

    >>National defense services exams

    >>Combined defense services exams

    >>Combined medical services exam

    >>Geologists exam and some more.

Where as IAS stands for the Indian Administrative services .It is one of the most respectable and prestigious administrative civil services of the Indian Government. In order to join this service you have to crack the Civil services examinations conducted by the UPSC.

Bachelor's degree is the minimum qualification required for it and the age limit is 21-30 years with relaxations in age applicable to the reserved category in upper age limits.

Hope the information will definitely help and clear the difference between the two terms which you have mentioned here. .If you want any more clarification or you have any other query please leave it here.

all the best for your career.
