Re: What is the difference between UPSC and SSC?

    Hello Friend !!

UPSC stands for Union Public Service Commission.

UPSC is responsible to recruit the qualified candidates into Indian Civil Services.

You need to be a graduate in any discipline to apply for these exams.

And you need to clear many rounds to get any post of UPSC.

They are like Prelims, Mains, Interview, Physical Test/Medical Test, etc,.

    Posts through UPSC are :

    Indian Administrative Service

    India Foreign Service

    Indian Police Service

    Indian Audit and Accounts Service

Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Central Excise)

    Indian Defence Accounts Service

    Indian Revenue Service (I.T.)

    Where as,
SSC Exams stands for Staff Selection Commission.

SSC Exams are conducted for recruiting the qualified candidates into many Govt Bodies.

The SSC conducts exams for Graduates and as well as 10+2 candidates also.

Like UPSC, you will not have much rounds for selection.

There will be a written test followed by an Interview.

    Exams under SSC are :

    (A) Assistants in Ministries/Departments, Attached and Subordinate office of the Govt. of India.

    (B) Inspectors of Central Excise & Customs.

    (C) Inspectors of Income Tax.

    (D) Preventive Officers in Customs.

    (E) Examiner in Customs.

    (F) Sub-Inspectors in Delhi Police & CBI.

    (G) Sub-Inspectors in BSF, CRPF, ITBP and CISF.

    (H) Divisional Accountant, Jr. Accountant, Auditor & UDCs in various offices of Govt. of India.

    Good Luck !!

    Hi aspirant,
SSC stands for Staff Selection Commission.

UPSC stands for Union Public Service Commission.

Both are the central government recruitment agency and recruit the cadidates for central government.

SSC coducts exam for post of like LDC, DEO, UDC, Income tax inspector etc

UPSC conducst exam for the post of IAS, IPS, IFS, Income tax commissioner, NDA, CDS etc.. These are the most reputed jobs of India. It belong to administration.

SSC doesn’t conduct the exam for railway, but UPSC conducts the exam for railway.

Exam toughness of UPSC exam is very higher in comparision of SSC exam.

    Best of Luck…
