    What posts are offered after clearing IAS exam? Give me the detailed information regarding same. Are those posts allotted based on the subjects we choose in the Mains exam?

    What posts are offered after clearing of IAS exam. Give me detailed information regaring the same. Also tell me that ,are the posts depending upon the subjects we choose in the Main Exam?

    Dear Applicant,
    -Firstly it is the CIVIL SERVICE exams,and not the IAS exams which are conducted annually by the UPSC !!
    -The exams are conducted annually.
    -While the notifications of the release of application forms are released by January-end and the last date to apply is by the first week of MARCH.
    -You can apply either online or offline.
    -To apply online,visit the website :: www.upsc.gov.in
    -
    To apply offline,you may purchase the application kit from your regional main branch post office,then fill it as directed on the brochure and post it on the desired address.

    The honorary and prestigious posts offered after clearing the CIVIL SERVICE exams are ::
    01. Indian Administrative Service officer.
    02. Indian Police Service officer.
    03. Indian Foreign Service officer.
    04. Revenue Officers.
    04. Indian Postal Service officers.
    05. Indian R
    ailways officerial posts.
    AND A LOTS MORE.......

    -Take note that these posts are not awarded on the basis of subjects chosen in the mains exams.
    It completely depends on the overall rank you score in these exams !!

    -One has to clear the UPSC Civil Services Exams conducted in 3 stages
    namely Prelims,Mains and Interviews and get a good rank in the merit list
    to become an IAS officer.

    -The posts are allotted according to the rank in the Final Merit List and is not
    related to the subjects offered by the candidates in the Mains exam.UPSC Civil
    services exam is the most competitive and merit based exam.Higher the score,
    higher the rank and higher the chances to opt for the desired posts.
