    What is the procedure for applying to IAS exam? What are the optional subjects in IAS exams? Can I select Tamil Language to study/writing IAS exams in tamil medium? How much money should I spend to study for IAS exams?

    Hi, i am tamilselvi, i have finished B.E(comp Science Engg) 2012 passed out.
    i planned to study IAS exam. could you please suggest me,

    1. what are the procedures for applying the IAS exam?
    2. what are the optional subjects in IAS exams?
    3. would I select tamil language to study and writing IAS exam in Tamil language?
    4. How much money to pay for studying the IAS Exam?

    You can apply IAS Exam after Graduation.


    Age should be between 21-30 years

    You can apply online using the website: http://www.upsconline.nic.in

    Examination :

    In IAS Examination there are two parts
    1 Preliminary Test
    2 Main Test

    1 Preliminary Test: It consists of two paper

    Paper-I total Marks 200Duration 2 hours

    syllabus :

    *Current events on national and internationalimportance.
    *Indian and word geography
    *History of India and Indian National Moments
    *Indian polity and governance
    *Economic and social development
    *General issue on environment ecology
    *General Science

    Paper-II total marks 200 time 2 hours

    *Comprehension
    *Communication skill
    *General Mental ability
    *Basic Numeracy
    *Data interpretation
    *Decision making and problem solving
    *Englishlanguage comprehension skill

    Part- II Main Exam

    Compulsory Subject:

    1.General Studies 2 Papers of 300 marks
    2 Essay 1 paper of 200 marks
    3. English (Qualifying) 1 paper of 300 marks
