    -You have to CLEAR the CIVIL SERVICE exams if you are eager to become an Indian Administrative Officer(IAS) or an Indian Police Officer(IPS).
    -The CIVIL SERVICE EXAMS are conducted
    by the UPSC annually for the recruitment of
    candidates in the Highest Civilian Posts in
    Administration,Police,Revenue,Railways,Postal
    services,Foreign Services,etc.
    -The exams are conducted in three
    phases,namely,
    *The Preliminary Exams.
    *The Mains Exams.
    *The Interviews.
    You have to clear the preceding phase to
    proceed to the next.
    -The eligibility requirements for appearing
    the Civil Service exams are given below-
    ::: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA :::
    # NATIONALITY.
    (1)You must be a Citizen of India,or
    (2)You must be a subject of Nepal or
    Bhutan,or
    (3)You must be a Tibetan refugee settled
    permanently in India,before 1962.
    # AGE LIMITS.
    You must be 21 to 30 years of age.The upper
    age limit is however relaxable by-
    (1) 5 Years for The SC/ST and ex-
    servicemen.
    (2) 3 Years for the OBC candidates and
    Physically Disabled.
    # EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS.
    You must have completed your Graduation or
    Equivalent,from a recognized
    university,with any subject or stream.
    Final Year students are also applicable.
    Only passing percentage is required.
    #NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS ALLOWED.
    (1) For General Category-04
    (2) For OBC Candidates-07
    (3) For SC/ST Candidates-Unlimited.
    -If you fulfil the eligibility criteria
    fully,then you can go ahead to appear for
    the exams.
    -The forms are released by the end of
    January,and the last date to apply is in
    about the first week of March.
    -You can apply either ONLINE on the website
    mentioned aside-www.upsconline.nic.in

    application kit from your nearest

    The CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION is conducted every year by the UPSC for the selection of candidate for IAS/IPS. The eligibility required for the civil service examination is given below:

    Required Qualification to appear for Civil Services Exam

    -You should have passed Graduation degree in any specialization from recognized Institute.
    -You are for civil service exam while in graduation final year.
    -UPSC Civil service exam has no restriction on graduation percentage.
    -Your Age should be within the limit of 21 to 23 years.
    -You must be a citizen of India.


    Important dates:
    Last date for online Application: 5th March 2012 till 11.59 pm
    Date of Commencement Exam: 20.05.2012 (SUNDAY)


    Civil Service Examination has three stages

    1st Stage: Preliminary Exam

    2nd Stage: Main Examination

    you need to crack the entrance exam i.e CIVIL SERVICE EXAM

    there are following steps for civil service exam

    -civil service exam(preliminary exam)=20-05-2012(date of commencement of exam)

    -civil service exam (main exam)=date of commencement of exam=5-10-2012=21 days duration

    Eligibility=

    1) educational qualification=
    should be a graduate or final year candidate can also appear

    candidate with professional and technical qualification recognized by the govt as equivalent to professional or technical process
    can appear for this

    candidates who have passed the final year in MBBS or any medical examination but yet not completed the internship can also appear for the main examination

    2)age limit=21 years and not more than 30 years

    **the upper age limit is relaxed for special cases given below

    -maximum of 5 years for SC/ST

    -upto maximum of 3 years for OBC

    -up-to of maximum fo 5 years if the candidate has been domiciled in jammu and Kashmir during the period 1st jan 1980 and december 31 1989

    -upto maximum fo 3 years in case of defense personnel disabled during hostilities with foreign countries or in a disturbed area

    upto maximum fo 10 years in case of blind,deaf,mute,orthopedically handicapped candidates

    3)Nationality=

    -only Indian nationals are eligible for IPS/IAS

    SHOULD BE MEDICALLY FINE

    To become a IAS/IPS then , you have to qualified from Civil Service Examination .

    Dear pal,
    • Before thinking of the procedure for applying for Indian Administrative and police service you need to satisfy certain requirement which includes bachelor degree in any discipline.
    • In addition to that one need to have completed 21 years of age so that you have satisfied the age criteria for the exam.
    • Following which you need to apply for the exam which can be made online or offline. Offline application is available in the post offices against a cash of rupees 30. If you wish you can apply online in the website www.upsconline.nic.in .
    • The screening process for the entrance exam includes Common aptitude exam followed by Main exam and personnel interview .
    • The aptitude exam includes two papers qualifying which you are eligible for main exam which includes 9 papers of which 4 papers are optional and others are compulsory.
    • Clearing the exam you will be called for personnel interview. The total of main exam and personnel interview is calculated and a rank list is provided based on which admission is provided.

    to become an IAS/IPS you have to clear Civil Services exam conducted by UPSC.

    Eligibility criteria for Civil Services :

    you must complete or appearing in final year of graduation from recognized college or university.

    your age must be within 21 years to 30 years.

    And there is relaxation in UPPER AGE limit for reserved category candidates(3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates).

    Dear,

    if you want to become an ias/ips officer than you have to appear in the civil services examination which conducted by upsc every year once .


    The notification for the examination is released in the month of february and the exam is held in the month of may/ june .

    Eligibility criteria:-


    1. You must be an indian citizen .

    2. You must be a graduate from a govt.recognized university .


    the exams is conducted in three steps

    1. Prelims

    2. Mains .

    3. Interview


    after all the three steps of the exam you will be awarded the no. Out of 2000.

    And the shortlisted candidates get a call letter for the job.

    And if you want to become a Ias officer

    Then you have to write the civil services exam

    As for the exam here is the criteria:

    Education: The candidate should be pass in graduation from

    Age limit: The age should be between 21-30

    And their will be relaxation given to the sc,st of 5 years

    To become the IAS / IPS post you have to give the UPSC exam first .
    The eligibility for the exam is below :
    -> one should done their graduation from any recognized university


    -> A final year student can also eligible for applying the exam , but before the main exam one have to complete the graduation .


    -> age limit is 21-30 for general cast , 3 years relaxion for obc , 5 years relaxion for sc/st/ex-serviceman , 10 years relaxion for physically handicapped .


    -> maximum 4 attempts are allowed for the general cast , 7 for obc cast and no limit for the no of attempts for the sc/st cast .

    The exam pattern is below :
    The exam pattern consist three parts .
    1) preliminary exam
    2) main exam
    3) interview


    Preliminary exam consist two papers
    1.General Study
    2.Optional subject
    and one should pass this exam for qualifying for the next round .


    Main exam consists 9 descriptive type paper
    1-Any language defined in constitution of India

    The first two papers marks are not considered but one should pass this two paper compulsory .

    EVERY YEAR THE FULL DESCRIBED ADVERTISEMENT OF CIVIL SERVICES EXAMINATION IS RELEASED IN THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY AND THE EXAM IS GENERALLY HELD IN THE MONTH OF MAY.

    THERE IS THREE STEPS IN SELECTION FOR THE JOB WHICH IS :--

    to become an ips/ias officer the aspirant should be graduate in any stream form a recognized institute and the age of the applicant should be between 21-30 if general category ,21-33 years if obc,21-35 years if sc/st.

    to become an ips/ias officer you first have to apply for civil services exam conducted by upsc .you can apply for it by buying the form from the head post office and then filling it or you can apply for this exam through internet by logging on to the site www.onlineupsc.nic.in where you can fill the form following the instruction given there.
    the notification form this exam is released by upsc in feb or march.
    it need hard work and a lot of determination to crack this exam.
