    Dear Aspirant

    IES(Indian Economics Services )exam is conducted by UPSC for recruitment officers in planning commission,ministry of economic affairs.
    The examination pattern consists of two stages Written examination consisting of 1000 marks and final interview of 200 marks
    The written examination consists of following papers each of 3 hours duration
    General English-100 marks
    General Studies-100 marks
    General Economics-I-200 marks
    General Economics-II-200 marks
    General Economics-III-200 marks
    Indian Economics-200 marks

    You may download the question paper from UPSC official websites (www.upsc.gov.in) from year 2009-2012

    Examination will be held on November 9,2013 and date of notification for examination is August 17,2013

    A) written
    B) interview
    you have to clear these both

    ​Examination Pattern for Indian Economic Service 2013

    SERIAL NO. SUBJECTS MAXIMUM MARKS TOTAL TIME
    I GENERAL ENGLISH 100 3 HOURS
    II GENERAL STUDIES 100 3 HOURS
    III GENERAL ECONOMICS I 200 3 HOURS
    IV GENERAL ECONOMICS II 200 3 HOURS
    V GENERAL ECONOMICS III 200 3 HOURS
    VI INDIAN ECONOMICS 200 3 HOURS
    TOTAL 1000

    These all papers will be conducted in conventional type pattern and qualifying in each paper is mandatory by scoring minimum qualifying marks and all papers will be set in english only and all questions will be in conventional type pattern where candidates have to write answers of each question in their own words and hand

    General English : Candidates will be required to write an essay in English. Other questions will be designed to test their understanding of english and workmanlike use of words. Passages will be usually be set for summary and precis

    General Studies : Current Events and National and International Importance, History and Culture of India, Indian Polity and Constitution, Geography of India and World, Current Affairs, Economic Development and Social issues, Environmental Studies, Bio-Diversity, Ecology etc.

    General Economics I - Following topics will be asked in this paper :

    Section I :

    * Theory of consumer's demand
    * Theory of Production
    * Theory of Value
    * Theory of Distribution
    * Welfare Economics

    Section II :

    * Quantitive Methods in Economics
    * Mathematical Methods in Economics
    * Statistical and Electrometric Methods


    General Economics II - These topics will be covered in this paper :

    * Economic Thought
    * Concept of National Income and Social Accounting
    * Theory of Employment, Output, Inflation, Money and Finance
    * Financial and Capital Markets
    * Economic Growth and Development
    * International Economics
    * Balance of Payments
    * Global Institutions

    General Economics III - Following topics will be under this paper :

    * Public Finance
    * Environmental Economics
    * Industrial Economics
    * State, Market and Planning

    Indian Economic service conducted by UPSC.

    Qualification Required-Post Graduate degree from a recognized university in Economics/Econometrics/Applied Economics/Business Economics

    Age Limit-21 to 30 years for general category.

    6)General Economics

    After written exam,there is a Interview-Personality Test.
    The personality test is of 200 marks.

    >>You must be passed a post gradation degree from a Indian Recognized University in Economics Subjects.

    >>Your age should be between 21-30 years.

    >>You must be Indian citizen.

    Question pattern Of Indian Economics Services;-

    Part 1-Written exam which consist following subjects having 100 marks

    General English having 100 marks including 3 hours

    General Studies

    General Economics-1

    General Economics-2

    General Economics-3

    Indian Economics

    Part 2-Consist Viva voce called for those candidates which consist at least 200 marks
