    Hello, You can apply for both IES and IAS examination. IES exam means engineering services examination and IAS is the Administrative examination. In both exam you can apply for.

    In IES exam there are four categories and syllabus for all categories are same::

    1. Civil Engineering

    2. Mechanical Engineering

    3. Electrical Engineering

    4. Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

    In IAS examination:: You can apply online for these examinations at www.upsconline.nic.in

    The eligibility criteria for appearing in UPSC exam is Graduation in any stream from a recognized university.

    The Age limit for UPSC exam is 21 to 30 years on 1 August of Exam Year i.e. If you are appearing in 2012 UPSC exam then your age should between 2 August 1982 to 1 August 1991.

    There is five years relaxation for the SC/ST candidates.

    There are two types of written examination in UPSC.

    UPSC Prelim exam and UPSC Mains exam. You will appear in UPSC Prelim exam first in which Objective type Questions are asked from General English, General Studies etc.

    For UPSC Mains you have to choose Subjects. There are total 51 Optional Subjects in which 23 are from main subjects and 28 Language Subjects like Hindi, English, Bengali etc.

    You can take the Arts subjects in IAS examination such as sociology, History etc. They are more easier than that of other subjects.

    in which u must be consantraete out janral knowledge , because that's most important to crack this exam

    dear friend,

    you can apply for UPSC Civil Services Exam, IES, IFS, CDS exams.
    for all the exams you need to complete your graduation with any percentage from recognized college or university.
    and your age must be within 21 years to 30 years(relaxation in upper age for reserved category OBC:3 years, SC/ST:5 years)

    • there is no special step by step process to give upsc exam
    • it is very easy to give upsc exam
    • you mentioned as completed b.tech in ece stream that is
    • enough to apply for upsc exam
    • because upsc needs only graduation in any stream with any percentage
    • but you should be between 21 to 30 years it is mandatory
    • age relaxation also provided for reservation candidates
    • coming process to give upsc exam is...
    • daily browse the official website of upsc or read employment news paper
    • it will show all the notifications of current jobs
    • and there is no relation between the subjects you had studied and
    • the subjects placed in upsc competitive exam
    • any way good luck..

    Following are the steps that you follow to give a UPSC exam .
    -> You have to apply for the exam .
    But before applying the exam you should fulfill the eligibility criteria like
    -> You should done your graduation from any recognized university .
    -> age must be between 21-30 for general cast , 21-33 for obc cast , 21-35 for sc/st cast , 21-40 for physically handicapped .

    After eligible , fill the form and start the preparation for the exam .

    Exam Pattern is below :

    There are three parts in the exam .
    1. Preliminary exam
    2.Main exam
    3.Interview

    Preliminary exam consist two papers .

    Main exam consist 9 descriptive type papers .

    The papers are below :
    1-Any language defined in constitution of India
    2-english
    3-essay
    4-general study
    5-general study
    6-optional subject-1
    7-optional subject-1
    8-optional subject-2
    9-optional subject-2

    Last interview will be held .

    The list of optional subject is below :
    Agriculture
    Management
    Animal Husbandry & Vetinary Science
    Mathematics
    Anthropology
    Mechanical Engineering
    Botany
    Medical Science
    Chemistry
    Philosophy
    Civil Engineering
    Physics

    You should i think select Maths as a one optional subject and other subject you will be choose according to your interest because there are no ECE subject in the list .

    So you have to select according to your interest .

    There are lot of exams of upsc for which you can apply like IAS,IFS etc..

    You can choose optional subject as per you strength like the your branch subjects

    you must opt for upsc ies exam.
    since you fulfuil its edcational qualification and the subjects is also from your area of interest.
    then apply for ies exam and choose your optional subject as electronics and telecommunication engineering.
    clear the preloms exam and then mains exam and then interview. you would be selected for ies, and become engineer in any govt. organisation
