    What is the syllabus for UPSC exams?

    hello i am a student of ca and i want to give upsc exams but i dont have any knowledge about the syllabus please guide me thnks

    You have not mentioned the name of the UPSC exam for which you want the syllabus.From my point of view,I think you are asking about the syllabus of civil services examinations.The syllabus for the different stages of civil services examinations together with exam pattern are :

    1.Civil services aptitude test/Preliminary examination:


    >>Both the papers generally consists of general knowledge.For this ,you must go through good news paper,news channels and previous year question paper along with good books.

    Some of them are :





    2.Second is the main examination.You have also not mentioned the name of subjects which you will take .So ,I am just mentioning the pattern:

    Syllabus for UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exams :

    I have attached the complete syllabus in detail for UPSC Civil prelims exam for both paper I and II

    Paper I - General Studies

    Paper II - CSAT

    Examination Pattern :

    Preliminary exam contains 2 objective type papers which are for complete 400 marks and if you qualify this section then you would be allowed for mains exam.

    Mains exam contains 9 descriptive type papers which are conducted for complete 2000 marks

    Interview Process contains - 300 marks.

    Priliminary exam - 400
    Total marks of written exam- 2000
    Interview test - 300

    Firest you cleare prilimnary exam after then you qulifiy the main exam.

    Syllebus of main exam
    Paper 1 - Any indian language
    paper 2 - English qulify lenguage
    Paper 3 - Essay
    Paper 4 - Genrel study
    Paper 5 - Any two optional subject

    If you cleare all paper then you selected for interview
    And you select for your performation.

    Civil Services Exam for IAS, IPS, IFS, etc is conducted every year by UPSC.

    For cracking this exam, you will have to pass three stages i.e.:

    (I) Preliminary Exam:

    The pattern of this Examination is:


    You must strong your G.S. to crack this examination.

    Eligibility criteria for UPSC Examinations:-
    Nationality:- The candidate must be the citizen of India to apply for the Indian Administrative Service & Indian Police Service.
    Age Limit: - The candidate should be minimum 21 years of age for applying and the maximum age limit to apply for the UPSC Exams is 29 years.
    Educational Qualification: - The candidate should have a degree completed from any of the institutes established by an Act of Parliament or any University deemed by the University Grant Commission under section 3, Act, 1956. The candidates with a degree from any of the recognized universities can apply for the UPSC Exams.
    Number of attempts: - Every eligible candidate is allowed to attempt the Civil Services Examination four times.
    Restrictions set by UPSC: - A successful candidate already recruited into the Indian Administrative Service or Indian Foreign Service, continuing to be a member of the same will be held ineligible to appear for further examinations.
    Physical Fitness Criteria: - Candidate appearing for the Civil Service Examination should be physically fit according to the standards of the UPSC. Fitness Standards set by UPSC are based on the guidelines given in Appendix-3 of rules for examination published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary dated 4th December, 2004.
    Brief information about the UPSC Examination application:
    All the UPSC Exams have the same forms. The eligibility criteria and other details may differ from exam to exam. A candidate wishing to appear for more than one exam has to fill an individual form for each examination. UPSC notifies common public about the examinations through Employment News and other leading newspapers every year in the month of December.
    Applicants can procure forms and information brochures about UPSC exams from all the leading Post Offices across India. Candidates have to send the properly filled forms along with the acknowledgment card.
    Examination Pattern of UPSC
    Candidates have to successfully complete the Preliminary Examination to appear for the main Examination
    After completion of the main examinations, the candidates have to appear for the final interview and a Personality Test.
