UPSC conducts civil services exam in three stages- preliminary, mains and interview
At the time of applying for prelims, you have to give basic details about you ie date of birth, Educational Qualification, community, your address etc. No other details are required and you need not submit any proof for your information given.
You have to apply separately for mains exam after clearing prelims. At this time you have to give your optional subjects, which medium you are going to write exam, your post preferences, your hobbies, extra-curricular activities, achievements etc. You have to give your complete profile while applying for mains. Post preferences once given cannot be changed later .So be cautious while filling the form.

    hi,

before post reference and selection you have to face off 3 major round of competative exams..

    1. prelims if you got passed init then you have to face

    2. mains and if you passed in it then final interview.

    3. after final interview and you passed in it then they ask for selection.
