    Dear Akhil,
In almost every governmnet jobs political impact plays an important role thus it may have or may not have pressure on the IES officers.

IES officers are government official but in some cases they have to go with flow of the situation.

There is nothing to get sacred or tensed about. The main and imporatnt thing is that you stay honest and determined toward your work.

Along with the time you will get to know how to handle such pressure and other factors.

***No there is no political pressures as far as IES exam is concerned.

***Ies(Indian engineering service)this entrance exam.is conducted by UPSC.

***Undoubtedly it is Govt.but there is no political pressure processing to get
    jobs done everything by UPSC.

***Education; Minimum a BE/BTech from a recognized Institution can write IES.

    ***Age : Gen: 21-30 years, relaxations for OBC: 3 years .S/C S/T: 5 years.

    ***Nationality: Indian.

Attempts: Gen. 4 Obc 7 (attempts allowed to complete IES)S/C S/T: No limit.

If an engineer servs under a Govt. concern then pressure may come to the higher authority to complete the project within the stipulated period. And authority can take steps against Engineers to do their duties perfectly.

    thank You,

Dear if you ask about the political pressure on central government officers as IES, IAS, IPS then you should not think about it because as per my accurate information and experience, there are so many pressures on the officers which are selected through UPSC or any other examination and this political pressure can never end in the world and we should only think about our best India so that you may also see about the current circumstances of India which are as - Indian Economy is going slowdown because of various causes, No production at all in each field, Each of the government and private department on strike and against the government, so many cases of corruption, Scams, and other illegal affairs of various political ministers in India and you may also see about the Black money so that there is nothing can be done by the government in regarding your query means government is totally unable to stop this and i am sorry so that but i am not focusing that government is really worst, i am trying to say that the entire administrative and management system is not good because of the political pressure and for example i would like to tell you a single clue about this :

Once upon a time - Ms Kiran Bedi - India's first IPS Officer was on the traffic duty and there was a car parked in No parking zone and that car was of Ms. - Soniya Gandhi and she was in market and Kiran Bedi comes and ask from the driver of the car that why did you park your car in No parking zone then he said that - Do you know who's am i and don't you know that who's car is this so that Ms Kiran Bedi got angry at that time and slapped that driver and Ms Soniay Gandhi got this information and that's why - Even after working well and performing best in service Ms Kiran Bedi has never got the promotion in their post and she passed her entire as an IPS Officer.

You can also see that there are so many officers in the Police and other departments those who really adulate Politicians and gets high respect and faster promotion in their career and their salary is not more than 30,000 INR per month but they are the owner of Bungalows of Millions so that you can think what is involved in the system of the government and it may never stop so that dear you should not worry about this

You should become like an Army or Military or Navy or Air Force candidate who is always on duty - 24*7 and dedicated only to our great India and whenever the problems comes on India as - Invasion of any other country then they are ready to fight and die for India so that you should be like that and work honestly in your life and earn the respect in peoples not in politicians, and if you do this then you would also fee proud in yourself that you are an honest person in India who have never done anything wrong or illegal for career or money

Currently you may also see that CBI and Lokayukta Police is also Punching everywhere and catching each and ever single person or officer who is really corrupt in country and earned black money so that they can never save themselves from the Police because when the government wakes up and start the mission and use the power and rights then no one can hide him/herself and finally they get the punishment

    All the best

    Well mine friend,

Basically you have to face Political Pressure in every department but basically it depends on you ,,

How you deal with them and you treat them.

As we all know that IES is an examination conducted by UPSC .

Eligibility criteria for IES examination :

    >> You must hold B.TECH degree irrespective of your Branch.

    >> Your college must be approved AICTE

    >> Your age must lie in mid of 21 to 30 years.

    >> You must be Indian Citizen to attempt this examination.

NOTE : You may only attempt this examination in specific trades like :

    1. EEE

    2. ECE

    3. Civil

    4. Mechanical

    Hope it helps you!!

Re: Will there be any political pressures on IES officers especially from Ministers?

    Hello,

An IES officer does not have much public interface and corruption brews where there is any public interface. And, the immediate fallout of this is that an IES officer does not have to face much political pressures as compared to an IAS, IPS, IRS officers.

But, there are some departments in engineering services that are linked to granting contracts to contractors. The concerned officers, no doubt, have to listen what the ministers have to say in granting contracts. Moreover, black money is also there in these departments.

But, it all depends on the officer concerned. The officer, if does not want to take bribes, can not be forced by anyone to take it. It all depends on the values of the officer concerned and what the officer is looking upto.

Hope you are not looking into the prospects of making black money after getting into the services.

    Thanks,
    goyalk

    Hi Akhil jain ....

I can very well understand your concern.

Its just a human tendency of gaining power , that is going to try putting pressure on you .

But my friend , its you who have to work at that place.

If you are afraid of people , then you will not be able to work , instead you will not be able to live.

SO the best thing would be , if you love this job then dont ever think about the curves.

Try to live your life and do your work on terms .

Dont forget "System doesnot build us , Its us who builds the system."

So, Have a good experience Mr Akhil.
