Indian Foreign Services comes under the Civil services of the Indian Government .So the entrance exam for this service is also same and is called Civil services examination.UPSC conducts this entrance exam once every year for the different services like :
1.Indian Police services

This entrance has three stages :

The basic requirement for this exam is as below :
1.Academic qualification:
>>Bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university in any discipline .IF you are in final year then also you can give this exam .
2.Age limit :
>>21-30 years for the general candidates .
>>Upper age relaxed upto three years for the obc and five years to sc/st candidates.
3.Nationality: Indian.

you can become IFS(Indian Foreign Services) officer through Civil Services Exam. It is UPSC which conduct Civil Services exam every year.
Civil Services exam constitutes three parts:
1. CSAT(Prelims)
2. Mains
3. Interview
for Civil Services you must have completed or appearing in final year of graduation degree in any discipline from recognized college or university.
your age must be within 21 years to 30 years on 1 August of the year of exam. there is relaxation in upper age limit upto 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.and you must have attained the minimum age on same date and you have not attained the upper age on similar date.
for Civil Services exam there is also limit in number of attempts upto 4 for General category, 7 for OBC category and there is no limit of number of attempts for SC/St category.

Candidates who wish to join Indian Foreign Services have to take Civil Services Examination which is conducted by the UPSC every year. There are some eligibility criteria a candidate must fulfill to take this examination.
## The eligibility criteria a candidate must have for Civil Services Examination are:
* Passed Graduation in any stream or pursuing Graduation in final year.
* Citizenship should be Indian.
A subject of Nepal or Bhutan can also apply
