First of all you have to clear that which type of subjects you want to get in upsc mains. First of all I have to clear some points in upsc exams. UPSC conducts three exams for civil services, UPSC prelim, mains, Interview.

1. In prelim exam there are two objective papers of 200 marks each. You have to be asked the question about the current affairs, History, English, Geography, Some part of Indian Economics, Maths, Reasoning etc. You can prepare for this exam any of good G.K. Book or watching newschannels or read newspapers etc.

2. In upsc mains you have to face 9 papers of Indian Language paper, Essay, English, current affairs and two optional subjects which is chosen by you. If you want to see the optional subjects click here
